dawson ran his mouth. Said he can make 168. so Ward said fine, 168, no catchweight needed.
We shall see if he can make it and how his body responds.

Dumb by Dawson. I will still give Ward full credit for beating Dawson though if thats the way it goes.

Might be Dumb for Dawson but if he wins? Lineal Champion in 2 division is worth it if he loses he still is the man at 175lbs!

Ward is going to kill dawson. But hell the last time I said that Pac got fucked over by Arum.
Re: Andre Ward-Chad Dawson
i cannot see one legit reason why both belts are not at stake.168 in well under 175 making it also a lighheavyweight title fight.if the champ and challenger both weigh 175 or less the titles at stake.if one weights over 175 its a non title fight.especialy if the weight of over 175 is agreeded in advance..now the phoney commisions can say were sanctioing only the 168 belt thus dawsons title is not on the line..what will rings policy be.if its both titles are on the line there right.if they say only the 168 is on the line they married then the abc boys.another chance for ring to lead the way and speak out.will they..also where are the guys like max brian kenny manny stewart etc etc on this.or dan r.are they going along with this bs.i hope not.

I see this fight ending up a boring, brutal split decision. Niether guy will dominate.

Yeah I think you're right. It will probably be one of those fights that won't be very exciting but will be interesting to watch and that you would only watch once.

No doubt it will be boring I just think Ward is too smart in the ring for Dawson.kbyte wrote:Ali wrote:Soonermark890 wrote:Ward is going to kill dawson. But hell the last time I said that Pac got fucked over by Arum.

Re: Andre Ward-Chad Dawson
the one thing we don't know is how Ward will deal with a southpaw. With his extensive amateur background, I would guess he has faced some good southpaws. But not in the pro game.
He should be prepared and figure it out, but it might be something that contributes to making this fight even more boring.

Re: Andre Ward-Chad Dawson
i think that ward wins pretty easily. for one, i think a lot of us are forgetting that this fight is at 168. although dawson says he can easily make it, i doubt it. im sure that he wont be his best self. two, dawson gets intimidated way too easily. when things stop going his way, he loses it. ward will make it an ugly fight like he always does and slowly chop away at dawson to a UD.

115-113 Ward sounds good to me.
If it was at LHW perhaps it might be more intriguing.

I think Chad is massively overrated. Ward is going to kill him. I dont know if Bad Chad will win a round.gomez1012 wrote:Ali wrote:115-113 Ward sounds good to me.

Re: Andre Ward-Chad Dawson
I am going out on a limb and predict Dawson here, knowing full well that Ward could and should win this fight.
I think it is Chad that is the only one of the two here that can make this an easy, boring fight...and I predict that is exactly what he will attempt to do, keep Andre at the end of a jab and catch him with crosses when Ward tries to come in. I think if Dawson jabs not always with the intent to hit Ward's chin, but with the idea first and foremost to keep Andre in that "earmuff" pose he likes and is able to do this for most of the round, he will pile up points. And he will force Ward midway thru to take chances he usually doesn't like to.
Dawson by UD.

I disagree. Wards main strength is taking the jab away from his opponent. He will get in close and work Dawson. Dawsons long limbs won't allow him to get his shots off. Easy and boring ud for ward zzzzzzz

Re: Andre Ward-Chad Dawson
I have a hard time picking against the guy with the much higher boxing IQ (and possibly will to win).
Ward has muscled and mauled guys.
he's boxed on the outside and then done the dive in with the right hand and just clinch BHOP style.
He used his feet and quicker hands to be out of range, get into range, and get back out against Kessler.
I think Ward will adjust to whatever Dawson does and counteract it. That is Ward's strength. He will adjust, find a way to win rounds, and get the job done. Ward hasn't lost since the first 2 years of his amateur career and I think he will find a way to keep winning.
