Is that all the characters from Clash of Kings ? isn't there a new Greyjoy to be introduced ?

"Game of Thrones" season 2 is yet to be premiered, but discussion about the possible third season has brewed at San Diego Comic Con. During a panel on Thursday, July 21, executive producer/creator David Benoiff hinted it will not correspond with the books at that point because "A Storm of Swords" is "too big to do as one season."

Still, there is a scene in the book, which they simply called "RW", they are looking forward to. "If we can get to 'RW' we've accomplished something," Benoiff gushed. Author George R.R. Martin additionally claimed that "RW" was the hardest scene he's every written.

When Martin was asked why he likes to kill off beloved characters, he explained, "It keeps you on your toes." He went on elaborating, "I want people emotionally involved in my story. We all know books and movies where a hero's are in trouble and you know they're going to get out of it. Those are fun but don't involve your emotions. ... I tell myself it's not me killing them it's the other characters."

The cast then dished on how they would like to see their characters at the end of the drama series.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) imagined, "20 years later... it's a small cottage, Jaime and Cersei sitting there, 'finally my love, finally.' " Meanwhile, Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) demanded, "Bring Khal Drogo back for sure and have him and Tyrion co-rule."

There will be quite a few more characters being introduced. Theon's father, sister and uncles. There's also Vargo Hoat and Ser Armory Lorch. Those guys are nothing but trouble.

There is a lot of stuff that happens in the second book. I don't know how they'll fit everything in unless they shoot 15 or 16 episeodes instead of the 10 they did for the first season.

HBO has only commissioned ten episodes for the second season. There will be a blackwater battle though, they confirmed that at the comic con panel, George himself is penning that episode.

So they’re not committing to running “Game of Thrones” forever. “I think the challenge for us is always, how long do the creators want to stay with the show?” Lombardo ponders. “Dan and David have signed on for a couple years and we’re going to have that conversations with them every couple years,” Lombardo adds. He takes very seriously the relationship the show has with its fanbase, noting the audience’s attention to even the smallest detail. “That’s a relationship that we’re obviously very aware of and respectful of,” Lombardo closes.

“I hope it lasts for 20 years,” says HBO programming president Michael Lombardo of the show. “I promise you we won’t stop it before it’s ready to stop … there’s a great relationship fans have with the show and we appreciate that. We’ve never seen people get so excited about casting [decisions].”

Just finished the first book, what a terrific read.

I wonder why they never introduced the Tully's after Robb defeated Jaimie.

Some minor changes here and there but nothing too drastic. I only realized recently that Ser Jorah was Lord Mormont's son Laughing

The actors are probably five, ten years apart in real life.

The Welsh actor is joining the swelling cast of the Emmy-nominated HBO drama based on the George R.R. Martin novels as Craster, the tenuous ally to the Night’s Watch.

The series has been bulking up on casting, recently adding Roy Dotrice as Pyromancer Hallyne; German actor Tom Wlaschiha as Jaqen; and Gemma Whelan as Yara Greyjoy. Other additions include Stephen Dillane as Stannis Baratheon; and Carice van Houten as Melisandre.

Gwendoline Christie was also added as Brienne, Maid of Tarth, as was Natalie Dormer, who will play Margaery Tyrell.

Production on Season 2 of Game of Thrones is currently under way in Belfast.

+1 - I'm about halfway through it and agree it is the best of the series so far. Cannot wait to see what they do with these when they make it to HBO. I can see the budget getting out of hand given the scale of what happens.

Sort of disapointed that they cast someone hot in the role of Brienne, as her being butch ugly was such a big part of that character. Nobody wants to see an ugly woman on TV I suppose.

How far in are you ? Just reached Davos chapter on page 517.

It'll be interesting to see how they cover the Blackwater battle, that's going to require alot of CGI fire, ships and one gargantuan chain. Hope they let Tyrion out of the cage during that episode and don't cop out like they did with the Green Ford in season 1.

I think they've got lucky with the Brienne casting, it can't be easy to find a blonde who could look the Hound in the eye. I am sure they'll be able to maker her ugly like they did with Charlize Theron in Monster.

I'm on the Dany chapter around page 782 - man this book is amazing. Lots of shit goes down in the second half of it; you're getting to some big turning points now.

I'm interested to see how they handle the big battles too, as well as the "beyond the wall" stuff. Could get overloaded with CGI, I just hope they do it well. And I was thinking the same thing about Tyrion, but it kind of makes for a more dramatic switch in his character if he lead that charge there as opposed to already fighting at Green Ford.

Model turned actress Lisa Nolan has abruptly quit her role as a King's mistress after being asked to bare all for a sex scene in HBO's dark fantasy Emmy nominated series, returning in early 2012.

The 22-year-old Irish model/actress walked off the set after she was asked to strip down despite being promised "no nudity" when she initially signed up to play the King's mistress earlier this year. "It (scene) looked like it was going to basically be soft porn," said Nolan.

And she's not even really an "actress" anyway, just a model. So who cares? There are hundreds who can take her role just as easily.

My best guess is Maynce Rayder, the "King Beyond the Wall", but I don't think he shows up til after the Clash of Kings book (they may move some of the plot elements around though).
