Thiago Silva dominated Brandon Vera on the ground to earn a unanimous decision.
Brian Stann steam rolled Chris Leben to a TKO in the first round.
Frankie Edgar survived a ridiculous beating in the first round to earn a draw with Gray Maynard.

Frankie was in huge trouble in the first, got severely hurt with a left hook. He barely survived it was similar to the Khan vs Maidana tenth round.

What a heart Edgar has.

I have 2-2 right now, but the question is whether the first round was dominate enough to justify a 10-8 round.

Real close fight, I think Frankie's just edged it.

The fight is a draw.

two judges had it for either man and one judge had it 47-47.

I had it 3-2 for Edgar but I gave Maynard a 10-8 round in the first which makes it a draw.

Two rounds were definitely close, rounds 2 and 5 could have went either way.

I was thinking the exact same thing about Vera, this will now be his second straight surgery after a fight, he needs to retire or the medical bills will just keep stacking up.

Silva looked on fire tonight, I am now convinced that injury definitely hampered him in the Evans fight. I believe he could take Rashad in a rematch.

Guida fought smart but I was disappointed he didn't brawl.

Vera didn't look right in the Couture fight.As for Clay,he's entitled to a night like this.He's had his share of brawls and I would think it takes a toll on one's body.

That being said,there isn't a guy out there I would rather have beside me in a dark alley than Guida.

Oh yeah I am not mad at Guida for using those tactics I just expected more of a war. Fair play to Guida though he's taking full advantage of Greg Jackson's knowledge and making a run for the title.

I'd be surprised if Vera isn't cut after that loss, that's three straight loses.

Hopefully Silva get's a good fight next, I'd like to see him in there with Rampage.

Vera also has losses against Jardine and Sylvia.His only win of note was against Mir.
