UFC gets boxing banned in Oklahoma
The Oklahoma Athletic Commission has banned all “combative sports” (pro wrestling, MMA, and boxing) indefinitely. The banning which comes into effect from March 31st is a direct results of an impending lawuit from UFC who want to appeal against a 4% pay-per-view tax imposed by the state. The ruling is expected to effect 200 events that happen each year across Oklahoma.

The second the state realizes their losing money they'll lift the ban. UFC will probably just boycott the state.
And fucking LOL at pro wrestling being covered.

Does this include Indian reservations in Oklahoma? That's where all the casinos are.

Good question. I would guess no. On the reservations they are allowed to do all kinds of things that are illegal off of the reservation.Shaun wrote:Does this include Indian reservations in Oklahoma? That's where all the casinos are.

Grant, that will not affect boxing in the state as much as people think. The indian nations here are soveriegn states and are not subject to a state ban. Fights at Casinos will continue as usual I think.
