Chisora Banned by the WBC

Jose Sulaiman, president of The World Boxing Council has followed strictly all the actions related to the misconduct of British heavyweight Derek Chisora, considered one of the worst behaviors ever by a professional boxer , and we stand strongly with the British Boxing Board of Control and the BDB to resolve this case immediately.

The WBC is absolutely condemning behaviors that are not to be accepted in boxing under any circumstances and will act as soon as it can proceed to impose the fines and sanctions as we consider necessary - including slapping WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in the face at their weigh-in on February 17, spitting water in the face of Wladimir Klitschko on February 18th and brawling with countryman David Haye at the post-fight press conference.

The WBC is imposing a serious fine to be finally determined after a hearing to be held under the supervision of our counsel representative attorney Stephen Beverly, the WBC will also take off from the WBC rankings, the name of Derek Chisora and declare an indefinite suspension against fighting again for a WBC title, while demanding Chisora to take an anger management medical treatment after which his suspension will be reconsidered.

Boxing has won through the years an outstanding position in the world of sports and is liked by a President as well as by a shoe shine boy; the WBC has devoted at least 35 years for safety and boxing is today a sport that had only one fatal accident in minor boxing, that has overturned the past; boxers are gentlemen and show to the world an example of honor and fair play when after a tremendous battle, they go to the center of the ring to pay respect to each other.

Derek Chisora is not going to tarnish the sport for those born in the humblest beds, who become sports heroes of the world to live a life of dignity and pride. Chisora, however, as a human being that he is, is going to be strongly invited to enter an anger management rehabilitating program that hopefully will act in his benefit.

1) The WBC? They should be sanctioned for all the shit they've pulled!!
2) They're only a sanctioning body. They cannot affect his boxing license.

I'm just amused at the blatant hypocrisy and corruption that goes on daily with the WBC. Why didn't they ban Canelo for breaking that little guy's jaw? We all know it was him. Why didn't they ban Bum Jr for getting a DUI and not taking a post fight drug test REQUIRED for all WBC fights? Why didn't they ban Mayweather for beating his baby momma and threatening his own kids?

Can go on and on

I'd just love to see another fighter sue them and put them out of business for good. One of the most difficult things about being a boxing fan is trying to explain the sanctioning orgs. to people who don't watch it.

I have given on up on explaining sanctioning organizations to any non-boxing fan.

But given side money for bringing attention to the heavyweight division.

The media over here is making a big deal out of this, pisses me off that they don't realize all it means is Chisora won't get to fight for their corrupt title anymore.

WTF! WBC demands have nothing to do with Chisora being able to return to boxing. It will all depend on the British Board's ruling. And even if they suspend his licence, he can get one likely somewhere else. Sure Texas would give him a licence.
