Rios looked great tonight with his aggressive, aesthetically pleasing style. He is a force at 135 and I feel he could move up and compete at 140 right now. I would love for him to find someone in or around his weight class that will give him a great fight or beat him so we can get a nice rivalry on our hands. Acosta looked good in the first part of their fight but couldn't last the full 12 and Rios put him to bed in a bad way. I think Robert Guerrero would be a great fight for Rios. They're both big lightweights with power and chins. I hope the Ghost gets through Maidana win or lose injury free and we see these two young warriors fight.

It should be fun, whatever he does. But Guerrero would be great. Even Marquez next year maybe. I'd love to see him fight Bradley. Fun fighter.

That fight will be post Manny. I want to see how well Marquez looks after the Pacquiao fight and I will decide if he can hang with a young lion like Rios.

Young Gatti was pretty good but yeah he is better so far. I really hope they take their time and let him fight at 135 for a min before moving up.

I don't think he can keep the weight loss. If he fights every three months it will be easier for him but he doesn't so I think we'll only have him at 135 for another year.

If he can't get a fight with The Champ in the future, maybe after the Pac fight?, there's no point in him killing himself making weight.

My pick for a rivalry is Matthysse. Rios won't stay at 135 long with how much cutting he does as well as every name has moved on to 140. Matthysse has the chin, power, and skills to hang with Rios. I honestly see Rios whupping Maidana or that would be fun too.

JMM has gotten old enough that Rios could be competitive with him. That would be an all action fight. JMM has absorbed alot of damage.

Especially after the probable Pacquiao beatdown, I do not think JMM can hang with Rios.

No one at 135 can hang with Rios. However, I think a lot of guys at 140 can. Pac would stop him in 1 or 2 rounds easy. He's like Paul Williams but with more power. I like his excitement but it doesn't do much for me knowing he's going to overwhelm much smaller guys.

Way better than Gatti. Now that Guerrero, Marquez and Soto moved up to 140, it looks like Rios will have to do the same. I'd say the second best fighter there is Acosta and Rios knocked him out cold already. Time for the kid to move up IMO, he can make some great fights at 140. Rios would certainly make some FOTY bouts with Marquez, Soto, Maidana, Guerrero, and Mytthesse. His fight with Antillon would have been a FTOY but Antillon has a glass chin. I had a feeling he wouldnt be able to hang much longer if he kept up that pace. It was a good 3 rounds. I doubt Arum will want to put him with anyone relevent yet, so I dont think hes going to be in any meaningful fights for awhile. Fuck Bob Arum.

He reminds me of Mando Ramos.

Big lightweight. Throws like he's fighting for his next meal with a lot of passion.

Sounds like he's wanting to move to Jr Welter. He's calling out Khan and Maidana

I'm not surprised. If he can't fight JMM, there is no point in him killing himself to make weight.

LOL Rios needs to fight Morales or Maidana. It would be awesome.

Were talking about a Bob Arum fighter, dont expect a Guerrero, Khan or a Maidana fight from him anytime soon (or ever). Arum is going to build him up with fighters that are shells from their former selves. Maybe a Morales fight if anything.

He's had the kid in there with two ranked guys in his last two fights one of which was a belt holder and the other who is a dangerous puncher and notoriously dirty fighter. Neither guy was by any means a soft touch. Arum and Golden boy have reconciled their beef and said they are willing to make fights anyway.

Even a tremendous pressure fighter like Rios, I think Bob will keep him away from a boxer like Guerrero. I think Golden Boy would keep Khan away from such a dangerous fighter too. I fully expect Maidana or Matthysse as possibilities.

You would like to see Rios in a two division jump against a guy who has a two inch height advantage and a five inch reach advantage?
