Does Mayweather vs. Ortiz happen?
Floyd Mayweather has just snubbed another court appearance, this time a deposition for the Pacquiao law suit. I need someone to explain to me how this doesn't put him in serious jeapordy considering all the other charges against him. He's been humiliating the courts publicly and has demonstrated that he feels superior to a court order. I'm not a fortune-teller, nor do I wish jail on MW, but I think the chances of MW not seeing the inside of a jail cell for at least a year are less than zero.
Maybe I'm wrong and I really hope so. Can somebody on this board please make a case for MW that saves him from doing any time at all? I'd really love to hear it.

the criminal cases aren't scheduled to go to trial before the Ortiz fight (unless I am mistaken).
He skipped a deposition in a civil case. Court may end up holding him in contempt but that shouldn't prevent the fight.

I hope not. I'm really looking forward to this fight.

Can PBF settle out of court in these cases? I know he can in the Pac lawsuit but what about the other one involving his ex and kids? Or is out of the ex hands to say if it goes to trial or not?

There are two types of cases here: criminal and civil. The civil case is the defamation case filed by Pacman. That is a civil case. Pac already settled out of court with Goldenboy(one of the defendants). I would think a settlement would occur prior to trial, but I believe they are more than happy to make Floyd and his lawyers have to go through discovery.
As for the criminal cases: a prosecutor could come up with a plea agreement and Floyd could accept it, but I doubt it. There is multiple cases against him.
Then again I don't handle any criminal work and have done very little civil litigation. But there are two kinds of cases and their tracks are completely separate.

I think they'll figure out a way to make the fight.
