Crazy, aren't these players already getting paid ridiculous sums of money ?

Soccer players like Wayne Rooney make £160,000 a week here.

Well the Owners and the Players union have been trying to negotiate a deal so there can be a NFL season for this year. Theres a lot of money negotiated in this and both sides are trying to get as much as they can. Supposively they are a Billion dollars a part from a agreement. The Owners are trying to make the players take a pay cut (for a few years), so they can pay some shit off (like the banks and all this other shit). If theres no deal made (I forgot the cut off date) than there is no NFL for this up coming season. Players want a 50-50 deal with owners, but owners cant do that right now.

They do but so do the owners, and owners want more games out of them.

Especially with all of the concussion and injury talk in past season, guys ruin their bodies for the NFL.

Sounds like it will just be an official announcement for this

I think they want more games just for negotiation leverage. Players union has already said, no way are they letting their be more than 16 games. The sport is way to violent for there to be so many games. Theres a reason our top fighters dont fight more than 4 times a year. Bodies cant take too much punishment.

European football salaries are nuts. I think ESPN was saying the recent match Manchester U vs Manchester City was the most expensive game in history. The two highest paid American Football teams (Cowboys and Skins) made less than half of the two Football teams get paid (together I think).

Yup it's getting out of control here, all these Russian Billionaires and Saudi Arabian oil owners are starting to snap up clubs and throw there money around. Plus you've got clubs like Real Madrid who'll spend more than $80 million on one single player.

I'm sure that it's that Tom Zbikowski, an NFL player, will fight on the Cotto undercard.

Not all players make insane money. The big names of course do, and even second stringers.

But a bulk of the players like linemen, and third stringers, ect do not. Atleast not to support a family.

NFL basicaly wants players to train year round, where originaly players would go work their second jobs during the off seasons. There were s hit load of old school NFL players that were car salesmen ect.

Currently there is 4 pre-season games (where starters play anywhere from a series to a half) and 16 regular season games. Average NFL career isn't that long and guys who are fortunate to have a long-career can have debilitating injuries (alot of problems with concussions, early dimentia, etc... for retired players).

Owners want 18 regular season games and only 2 pre-season games. Same number of total games but it means starters are going to get beat up for 2 more games. I think there will be more injuries and careers will be a little shorter.

More regular season games mean more money for owners.

Players resistant to 18 game season and definitely want a bigger piece of the pie if the change is made.

Fuck Arum and his bullshit. What's his announcement? Sunday afternoon Boxing? Monday Night cat fights? I pay no attention to Arum unless he announces Pac's next fight.
