Gamboa would've iced JuanMa and left Top Rank. So maybe its good that he didnt.

thats the problem with waiting is that you never know when someone might lose. just match them up and it will most likely work out.

It turned out for the best. Arum would likely made it a PPV, so you'd end up spending 60 bucks to see Gamboa blow JuanMa out in a round or two

Lopez would have been such a better fighter if he knew how to slip a punch. But Arum deserved this crap. Now Salido-Garcia will be interesting.

Garcia is kinda a boring fighter. I hope Salido wins that fight and I hope it is exciting.Diego408 wrote:Lopez would have been such a better fighter if he knew how to slip a punch. But Arum deserved this crap. Now Salido-Garcia will be interesting.

I like the Garcia kid. Ultra disciplined and has stepped up with his competition. I think he KO's Salido.

He seems to lack a killer instinct. Sure, he's got a high KO rate now. But all good fighters outside the feather fisted rack up most of their KOs at this stage of their careers fighting against limited comp.
He needs to take some risks. He doesn't go to the body because he doesn't want to take the risk. And Tarver correctly pointed out, that is a major flaw. Being just a head hunter is going to cost you.

He's the son, brother and nephew of world class trainers. He's been taught caution from day one. I still think he's a force. He will KO Salido.

Not saying he won't be a force. Too soon to tell. I'm just saying if he continues to play it safe in the ring, it will be hard for him to get on TV, let alone get the big fights.
He'll be in the same situation Rigondeaux is in.

I think he'll have some more leverage than Rigo, he's American and his father and brother have some TV pull with the other guys they train. I don't really think anyone at 126 has major drawing power. Likeable winners can get on TV though. Couple him with Rios if he continues to win you have a refreshing yin yang scenario with stablemates. I don't know, I like the way this kid fights I'd like to see him succeed. I'd also like to see more of Rigo.

If he can get through Cab then he's the top contender in the division. They're moving him well.

He is ultra cautious. Thats why I say he is boring. He is very technical and good but not exciting at this point.hardcorebee24 wrote:Soonermark890 wrote:Garcia is kinda a boring fighter. Garcia is technically sound and patient. very fast guys will trouble him.
As for salido vs garcia-that would be fun.
Salido's career will be interesting to follow from here on out. Guys who start boxing professionally so young-he was 15 or 16, don't often stay effective that long. He's 31 and he needs to go for it now.
