Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
Honestly, this is a fight that has been discussed among my friends and I. I'd like to hear some opinions from the board.

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
if the fight ever happens which i doubt a lot then freddie roach better stick to his last statement which changes ever 4 hours..the last one is 147 was the agreeded weight for the mosley sham and he says no more catchweights..so if this fight ever happens ill be rooting for sergio to clean his clock..which will happen...

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
This is a total mis-match, as Maravilla already said himself. Hes not only bigger, stronger, but hes really fast for being a bigger guy. Pacquiao struggles with guys with movement, Sergio stomps him.

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
Honestly I have no clue how this fight would playout, common sense says it's a missmatch but Manny is such a freak of nature for all we know he could pull it off.

The Roach would demand the fight be at Jr welter

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
Let's say it's an open weight fight, Manny's allowed to step on the scales between 140lb-147lb and Martinez is allowed to step on to the scales between 154-160lb.

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
I don't know Grant, it's hard to envision Pacquaio being executed by anyone right now. The thing about the wild card is Manny has been sparring with fighters who are similar in size and build to Martinez, he won't be intimidated by Sergio.

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
Margs hurt him. And he's 100 times slower then Martinez. Martinez will land something, and if it's anything close to what he landed on Williams, Manny goes down.
Manny get's hit a lot. That's a fact. He's pushing it at welter. The Roach knows Martinez just too big for Manny.

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
sparing partners are not sergio..are we forgetting segio has1.fought much bigger guys than manny ever did2.fought much harder punches then manny ever did.3.fought much stronger punches then pac ever did 4.skill wise fought fighters at the same skill level that are far more dangerous...this is going overboard in giving tooo much credit to manny and little to no credit to segio..if sergio fought the oscar manny fought margo hatton clottey sergio would of crushed them..if pac fought williams and pavik at 160 pac would of gotten crushed..or citron at 154 pac would of had problems..
next we will be hearing the pac can beat brute..hes fater.etc etc..in 15 months pac may have all the problems he can handle with alvarez..

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
yes hes not only to big for manny he also may be to good for him also..age will hurt martinez in a few years but manny wont..he blows manny out..how would manny do against a inexperienced angulo..or a in shape kirkland..he bites off more then he can chew..lets not go overboard here.

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
Well obviously if Roach is being unreasonable with his demads (147 catch weight just BS), he doesnt want the fight for his boy. Roach knows Pacqauio limits, he knows Pac doesnt stand a chance. Pacqauio has been carefully match since his controversial win over Marquez in the rematch.

it definitely is a bridge too far. Martinez is a legit 160 pound champion. And I believe he is correctly ranked in the top of the world's P4P. His speed, skill, and toughness aren't to be questioned. If slow Cheato could land and hurt Pac with bodyshots, then the much faster martinez lands some big shots and takes Pac out. Just my opinion.

Well boys, I'd like to step in here & explain to y'all just exactly how boxin' works. If you beat a guy that beats a guy than you've already beat that other guy. Just ask some o' these 'underfeated' guys & they'll tell you. It don't make a lick o' sense to fight a guy that already lost to a guy ya done already whupped. Now this Pacman dude, he beat up that Margacheato guy, purty bad too. This Margacheato dude done knocked out that Sergio Valente or whatever his name is. So why in the world would anybody think that Pacman wouldn't knock out that underwear model? Now that's a lesson in boxing fer ya. In the words of the late great......what's his name...."most people don't know shit about boxin'". There ya go.

Re: Sergio Martinez vs. Manny Pacquiao
Unfair fight, Manny will weigh in at 148 again and come in at 151 or so, while Martinez would weigh in at 155 and come in at probably 170 or so. Also if Manny wins with a catchweight again, it'll be the same shit that everyone is saying now, he weight drains his opponents, even though they don't understand that Manny is always at a disadvantage as far as weight goes!

An absolute joke and mismatch. Sergio KILLS him.
If Manny won? it would be one of the ten most impressive wins in the history of the sport.
