Probably be similar to the Acosta fight, Gamboa having success early, but Rios keeps pressing until he gets to Gamboa and drops him

this fight will all depend on if gamboa can stay away for the full 12 rounds. he will definitely win the early rounds but i dont know if he can stay away from rios' attack for the full 12. rios is a hard puncher so i would have to say that rios wins by TKO.

I think Bob sees where the future investment will be with Manny and JMM getting old and guys like Gurerrero JuamMa and Donaire being inconsistent and Victor Ortiz having no heart. Rios can have the market locked. Rios comes to fight and has an exciting style. If he can beat a guy like Gamboa whom some claim is the fastest man in boxing it would speak volumes about his marketability and talent. He also speaks English (Somewhat). He has the back story to boot. Arum is smart in moving along with Rios

This is a good fight but I agree with hardcore. Gamboa is going to max out at 135 or 140. It would be EXTREMELY difficult to create a Cuban superstar at that small of weight. Rios has the style, will move up in weight, and has the potential fanbase to be a major player.

rios will end up being a better version of gatti.

guys i think your overanalizing things.both fighters have a future even if they fight and one losses.its a big fight with 2 guys that are on the rise in a dominate fashion.arum has strong interests in both and it will remain that way.

You're right but I think that Rios is the potential money making showcase here. Both will still be good I jut think Rios' potential is greater (not necessarily as a fighter but as an asset).

Gamboa has fought at 126 and 130 (126 for last 7 fights). Rios fights at 135 and is huge for the weight. Gamboa going to 135 and being as effective as he has been at 126 and 130 is not a given. I think Rios is too large and will walk Gamboa down.

What I think too. Rios is planning to move to Jr Welter. So the fight better happen soon.

Until Gamboa shows me he can be a hard hitter at LW I'll take Rios steamrolling him.

Its not even about Gamboa making money, its about Arum making money. He continues to cheat us from fights for his own greed. Gamboa is not a huge attraction. Garcia and Lopez can still be, even though Lopez got his ass kicked already attractions ti the sport becuase of their fan base (Mexicans and Puerto Ricans). Arum wants nothing to do with Caballero BTW.

As fans, it's easy to hate on Arum. But he does exactly what a good promoter should do.

If you're a promoter, and you invest in building up a fighter you're not going to be very willing to match them up with another promoter's fighter who has done jack shit to promote said fighter. Another promoter's fighter that brings nothing to the table.

Arum far from the problem with boxing. It's guys like Shaw, Goosen, Hayman, ect. Who do jackshit at actually building up fighters.

Despite Gamboa's speed and skill, I'd give this one to Rios. He's just too big for him and will be relentless. It will be good while it lasts though.
