Mayweather's weight

Mayweather weighs 150 pounds. He often weighs very little over the 147 limit when he gets in the ring.

He is basically the same size as the junior welters. Hell, when Bradley moved up to 147 for one fight, he weighed in the mid 150s when he walked into the ring (if my memory isn't going, which my wife thinks it is).

Brandon Rios has weighed right around 150 in the ring and he fights at 135.

Does Floyd even dehydrate himself any for the weigh in???


So while I rip Floyd for not fighting some of the best competition at 147 that was available over the last half decade, I have to acknowledge Floyd is basically a junior welter, campaigning at welter.

That's why the Floyd is big talk never made sense to me. He was bigger than JMM and maybe Hatton. That's also what made his win against Oscar and the way he did it that much more impressive. I'll see when the replay comes out next week but my guess from the parts I got a good look at are that this fight looked similar to that fight.

It's rare that a smaller guy can control bigger fighters using defense. Most smaller guys that compete get by on being better athletes.
