I do too. I feel bad for Mares a little because he really was wooping ass in the beginning.

Huge props to Jim Grey for calling that ref out, getting Mares a reality check to the situation, and showing sympathy to Joseph. Jim's stock just went up in my books.

Change to no contest. Immediate rematch.

Mares is never going to get to throw low blows again. He is now a tagged for it.

I meant fight scores....LOL
I had it 6-6 with the two bullshit KD's being the difference.

first knockdown did look like a slip, but punches were landing and I can understand the confusion (plus Agbeko seemed a bit off after he got up and for the next minute).

We have no idea what the fight would have been like if Mares hadn't hit him low repeatedly.

Tarver wants to fight at HW because he is a total moron. He could stand a decent chance at cruiser against Huck, etc...., but he wants to get KTFO at HW.

He is in rocky character. Really though he better stay away from the Klits.

Well maybe not immediate, Agbeko may need six months to ice his balls.

Interesting comments. Enjoyed reading them.

Jim Gray is awesome. I don't like him so much when he's breaking Pete Rose's balls, but tonight is the perfect night for a guy like that and I'm glad he had Mora sweating.

I cringed when I saw Mora as the ref in the intros. He's lost his touch and tonight he hit a wall. With that chicken-shit ref from Mares-Vic, the message is clear to the planners of the next tournament: PICK REFS AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME.

This Mora lost it when he let Montiel fight on from that Donaire KD. Then I saw him pull the trigger real quick a month later and stop a fight way prematurely. He lost his confidence.

But tonight almost made you think he was crooked. That's the funny part--I don't think he is. He just sucked that bad somehow. It was bad, got worse, and then new layers of bedrock kept getting discovered on how low he could sink.

Where's fuckin Vic Drakulich when you need him? That wasn't merely the worst officiating I have ever seen. That was the worst public display of human judgment I have ever witnessed. And I just watched Bumfights.

its not even the possible slip knockdown or the clear nutz shot knockdown, it is the amazing amount of low blows that Agbeko had to wade through to try to fight. he did remarkably well for a guy that got hit low repeatedly. I had the fight 6-4 after 10 and stopped scoring because of the 11th's crazyness and you could argue that Agbeko won the final 2 rounds (if you take out the bullshit nutz knockdown in the 11th).

Jim Gray finally got a moment he was waiting for and didn't waste a question grilling the ref. I enjoyed his work for once

Absolutely terrible. The call in the 11th was a 4 pt swing in my book which I have never seen. I go from a 10-8 rd for Agbeko to a 10-8 rd for Mares. There will be a rematch but this result won't change sadly.

how do you come up with 10-8 for Agbeko. Mares wasn't down or hurt.

That's right. I had it as an Agbeko round which would've been 10-8 with the much deserved point deduction.

Mares will never be able to get away with low blows again. Every fighter, his corner and ref will be looking for it from now on.

Golota threw less nut shots. Horrible officiating that ruined a good fight.

I normaly don't buy exscuses from fighters about fouls, it's a fight after all. But in this case, nobody could have performed well when getting hit repeatidly below the belt.

And Agbeko did perform pretty well. 6-4 for Mares when I stopped scoring after the nutz shot in the 11th. I was rooting for Mares. I had him picked for GOR. I had dropped 50 bucks on him to win the fight in a bet. It still it felt obscene winning the way he did.
