It's a pity because Mares is a young upcoming fighter who's got the potential to be a star.

He placed an ad looking for fighters in the Newark Star-Ledger. He left a number to fax your resume, my dad told me I should have sent him an resume and try to get in on the promotional end (which in Shaw's case, wouldn't happen since he doesn't really promote anything).

a lot of mexicans were watching the cotto fight plus i think mares promoter has done a terrible job at marketing him to the mexicans. this guy came out of the same olympic class that juanma came out of and they have done a terrible job with him. i think mares next opponent should be montiel and that will get his compas talking.

montiel is done. he just lost to a nobody. his next step should be moreno, then an easy fight, then hopefully donaire.

No none of the guys draw, so it comes to no surprise . GBP should throw Mares in Mayweather and Canelo undercard fights and when he does headline These Showtime cards, it should be in LA to keep building a fan base. Mares is talented, Mexican and can be entertaining. Mares can become something, even though he can't punch lol

mares wouldnt be hard to promote. he has an exciting style and maybe isnt a huge puncher but is a decent one. he also seems like a likeable guy.

don't agree. again montiel is PERFECT for mares because he is ripe and the mexican fans would tune in. after he beats montiel and gains noteriety from his people then make the moreno and the donaire fights.

If Shaw had some brains, he'd do what Arum did. Invite some C-list "celb" to host the fight. Like he did with Paris Hilton for the Pac-Mosley fight.
