Best Division for a Tournament
If you haven't seen, Agbeko vs Mares is rescheduled. I have loved every fight in that 4 person bantam but with Donaire and Montiel skipping out we lost 2 of the top bantams. Which divisions are ripe for a tournament? Is their a division with a possibility for even a loosely defined tournament like light heavyweight is having?
I think Cruiser had potential but has stalled. I think lightweight would be fun if the GBP-TR war is really over. I would actually pick junior bantamweight. Four Mexican titlist with the Ring belt up for grabs in the championship. Cazares is entertaining and Mijares has a good comeback story. It seems like that division is perfectly set up for it. Anyone have an opinion?

Laugh all you want, but HW would make a great tournament.
Problem with HW division not just lack of talent, but mostly none these clowns will fight each other. Just sit with their thumb up their asses or fighting fring bums waiting for a Klitschko payday.
Prizefighter series shown you can get entertaining fights from total bum HWs.
Image if had Arreola, Helenius, Boytsov, Chambers, Dimitrenko, and Povetkin in single elimination tourament.

154lb aint too shabby in terms of competitiveness. alvarez, cotto, angulo, cintron, sergei d, rhodes, wolak etc etc. if margarito weren't fucked up you could throw him in too, add paul williams to that mix and you have some exciting fights. light heavy is heating up. featherweight a year ago looked fun but looks like the shape of that division is already being decided and gamboa looks to be way ahead right now. i think more tournaments should be bought in for every division to settle the debate of who is the man. it's how every other competitive sport operates and boxing should be no different

122. Single elimination. Round 1:
Vasquez Jr. v. Arce II
Nishioka v. Rigo
Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym v. Ryol Li Lee II
Donaire v. Shimoda
Other than Donaire, I think those guys would love the attention and be willing to make the fights.

as alot of us have said for years. There is some decent HW fights if you take the guys who are 4-12 or so in the divison and match them. Instead they all sit and wait for their lottery tickets when they get to face either Klit or Haye. That would be a good tournament. Add tony thompson and chagaev and you'd have a good 8 man tourney that would produce some good fights.

I still say Jr Middleweight would make for an interesting tournament.

Not bad. I think Montiel should be in instead of Donaire. I'd like Donaire to take on the Agbeko-Mares winner. I could easily see Montiel become the first 4 division titlist from Mexico if he gets the chance. I could see a Rigondeaux-Montiel/Donaire final. It would be big for TR.
