International Heavyweights was a huge ratings success on Saturday night – becoming the highest rating Boxing show of 2011

I’m delighted with the viewing figures that make us the highest rating show on Sky Sports this year,” said Eddie Hearn, managing director of Matchroom Sport. “Staging the International Heavyweights was a bold move and hard work to put together, but the reception if has received is proof that it was the right decision and the hard work paid off.”

I really really don't like Prizefighter at all, the fighters selected are complete bums.

but it gets ratings. it's an innovative idea that keeps boxing in the mainstream. the reason it works. primetime tv slots and good marketing. the format is exciting for casual fans. fans want to see guys go all out for 3 rounds rather than engage in a 12 round chess match. fans want to see blood, this is a prizefighting sport after all

Add on, it's HWs. Even with the HW division being bad, people are still drawn to seeing huge guys slugging it out.

Would much rather see the money spent towards securing overseas fights.
