Morales gets top 10 Ring ranking

after his performance against Maidana.....

Golden Boy up to their old tricks.

lose a fight and get ranked number 9.... Morales effort was valiant, but was it deserving of cracking the top 10 off that performance alone???

I don't think fighters should move up after a loss. Even a good one. Unless there was a robbery.

If a guy's deserving he should be able to move up quickly by winning his next few fights against top competition.

i really hope HBO fork out the money for Bradley - Khan at the end of the summer. That's the only fight left that is relevant at 140lb IMO, it's the fight that boxing needs. i believe it will happen

Why wasnt Chop Chop Corley top 10 ring rated when he lost a close decision to Maidana?

I have no problem with it especially since they kept Maidana at 3. If Maidana is above Judah, Alexander, and Kotelnik, then someone who barely lost to him deserves to be in the top 10. I would have Maidana at 6 but thats just me.

i agree. Maidana's last two outings, one loss and a very narrow victory. i think Alexander, Kotelnik and Maidana are all very close. i don't see that Alexander should be ranked below Maidana though, same with Kotelnik. who has Maidana beat to justify being number 3 in the division?? there seems to be a lot of favouritism towards Maidana. especially considering Alexander dropped a spot for a lacklustre performance. anyway, 140lb is a good division right now. the best are fighting the best..... and then there's Judah
by the way, Matthysse vs Alexander is going to be good fun. both guys need this win and both guys can bang. let's see how Devon copes with the bombs, and let's see if the Bradley fight was just an off night

I'm hoping Devon just wasn't mentally prepared for the headbutts and that the Urango fight really is what he can do to a slower, pressure, brawling type. However, I wouldn't put any money on Devon that's for sure.

Because it's common theme among their rankings.

It's a common theme only because name fighters are almost always a name for a reason.

I guess it could be like the ABC orgs rankings, where you got a bunch of nobodies in the top rankings and who have fought nobodies.

Everyone is allowing themselves to get way too carried away over Morales, yes it was a fantastic effort from an aging legend, but Erik didn't prove he was a top ten guy to me. Maidana's caveman style flattered him.

I'd have Matthysse, Julio, Holt, Cayo and Coleman easily ahead of Morales.

Khan struggled against Maidana and barely survived the fight. And you hailed it a great victory. Now Maidana just some bum caveman fighter?

I guarantee if Hatton put on the display Morales did, you'd be fine with the ranking.

Holt. did Holt win his most recent fight-can't recall but he was fighting a name-before that he has basically been semi-retired.

Where did I say bum ??? AND FOR THE THOUSANDTH TIME I HAVE NEVER BEEN A HATTON FAN !

Khan choose to brawl with Maidana and showed tremendous heart and guts, it was a great victory. Just because a legend like Morales showed superior footwork and ring generalship to make Maidana look bad isn't going to diminish that victory.

I love Morales but put him in with Bradley, Khan, Guerrero or Rios and you'll see him look 34 in brutal fashion.
