he was a long time florida ref who was the ref at the first clay-liston fight.he was friends with chris Dundee and was ref in many top fights in the 50s and 60s ive seen him ref several top fights that included liston carlos Ortiz luis rodrieguez mike dejohn johnny busso and several other fighters..he was pretty good by the way.

That's pretty fucking good. LOL

I know him as the referee for the first Liston - Clay fight. I recall that he didn't hear the bell after round one. I thought that he was so shocked at Ali (Clay) winning the first round that he missed the bell.

Wish I was born then. That must've been such a shock.
