Martinez looked fit like always, weighed in at 159. Jr looked very very thin with little muscle and weighed in At 158.

chavez jr. didn't look good to me. they said he looked good (hbo), but he looked rather drawn to me.

and his team made a mistake. For a guy who is going to weigh close to 180 or more in the ring, it is bizarre to come in 2 pounds under the limit. Very bizarre.

ive only seen bad come from a fighter cutting down more than needed. every time they seem so drained on fight night. during the weigh in, chavez looked terrible IMO. he was way too skinny. he definitely needs to move up after this fight no matter the result.

I've been silent about this fight for the most part, but now it's fight night. No need to write an essay on this one. Sergio will beat the fuck out of this pretender, paper tiger Julio Jr. until there's no more of Julio Jr. to beat.

HBO's crew either knew something or was trying so hard to blow smoke up everyone's arse. They said multiple times that Chavez looked better in making weight.

I'm still so confused by a guy who eats and rehydrates to 180 or more for a fight. Why in the hell did he come in at 158. Why would his team have gotten him more than half a pound below 160. He stepped off the scale and drank something immediately.
I agree with you puncher. I think he looked horrible and cutting down a couple of pounds more than needed is a true screw up on someone's part.

Sometimes fighters overshoot in making weight. Oscar did vs Pacquiao and we saw the result of that but also on the flipside, Hopkins I believe came in at 156 for the 158 lb. catchweight vs Oscar.

Slick, bringing the knowledge about my boy BHop. I point to that fact when people act like Hopkins was a monstrous middle and/or an averaged-sized light heavy now. If you can make 156 just shy of your 40th bday and still go out there and win, you are a marvel to be fighting at 175 at 46. Sorry tangent bragging about BHop is now over
