and yet many boxing fans (not referring to our members) love the belts. Every time someone gets one they refer to someone as a world champ.

Well Ward already has the copy of the WBC Belt he won at home in his trophy case. No need to keep paying to be called champion when he already is and has a belt (The Ring Belt) that places him as champion and he has no fees to pay to keep that belt! So if he is a dumbass and wants to PAY to get his "title" back then let him be a dumbass!

And some wonder why I cling to The Ring belt. It's not perfect. Nothing in life is. But it's the best out there to show who the real Champs are.

Fuck the trinkets. Ward is the Super Middle Champ. I wish he'd just dump his WBA trinket in the trash as well.

..good points.the world of boxing is filled with dumb ass fighters who get a wortless belt that they pay dearly for time and time again because they think there a world champ..ward is a world champ and its time for some real champs to speak out against this nonsence of 90-100 or so belt holders of some sort that think there a lol champ.

I don't got a problem with regional belts. They use to serve a purpose as stepping stones. Allowing good fighters who were not big names or came from obscure areas to get notice and lead to a shot at a world championship.

Fighters will always cling onto the belts because it means more money and recognition as a "World Champion." Networks love trinkets because they still think title fights equels higher ratings. Even if it's for bogus belts.

Casual fans don't know better. What's annoying is supposed hardcore fans calling their favorite fighters world champions because they got a trinket. PacTard's for example.
