Happy 71st Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Game!

Tradition since 1934. Lions earned this spot on Thanksgiving. Fuck the people debating whether or not to boot the Lions off Thanksgiving. They've earned it. It's tradition. I will lose all respect for NFL if they do such a thing.

Not even a Lions fan. But some traditions you just don't fuck with. The tradition was not bestowed upon the Lions. They started it.

When playing on Thanksgiving become a hit during TV era, NFL decided to a double header, and begged other teams to take part. Only Dallas was willing to mess with their Sunday schedule and take a chance on this gimmick.

Both these teams took a chance and why they are entitled to play on Turkey Day

The Lions hung in there. Wasn't a blow out until the very end. They are getting better

They are getting better PHYSICALLY. But they aren't a very good team yet. #27 is just awful, they blew at least two coverages etc. They just make mistakes. The Patriots aren't that much better physically, they just don't make many mistakes.

Lions have lost a lot close wins. What they need to do is what my Raiders did and get a winner on the team to change the whole mentality. Lions are just not use to winning. Losing is a disease.

And winning really is an acquired skill that becomes a habit.

Problem a lot of times is you get these high draft picks that are use to being on winning teams in college and go to teams like Lions, and get discouraged fast. Become accustom to not winning in the NFL

Yup. You're probably right, part of the answer is to bring a couple of physically declining champions, overpay them for a short time and hope they teach like crazy.
