defeats piot wilchewski a 29-1 fighter in his twelfth fight. great fight. a boxing fans classic. tough fight for both guys, really enjoyed the action and i'm looking forward to degale's future progression

That and how worthless belts are. They might as well give every fighter one.

In a fair world a regional belt like this would mean something like they once did. They were a legit stepping stone title. But now, they are as useless as the other ABC belts.

DeGale isn't even close to being a real contender yet. He'd get spanked by all the top guys in the division at this point. So what's the point in a stupid regional belt if not to use it to get a shot at a top opponent?

Like I've said before I have no problem with domestic titles like these, regional titles are important to the development of young boxers.
