Froch wants Hops after Super-Six
Ambitious plans are being put in place for Carl Froch, the World Boxing Council super-middleweight champion, to fight WBC light-heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground next spring, promoter Eddie Hearn revealed on Monday.
Froch is contracted to face undefeated World Boxing Association champion Andre Ward in the final of the World Super Sixes in the United States in the autumn, but Hearn is adamant that Froch, who has fought in six successive 12-stone world title fights, should now be lined up for a series of super-fights.
Both promoter and fighter have also told Showtime, the American television network which has underwritten the Super Sixes, that the unification contest with Ward should be held away from the American’s home state of California.
“A stadium fight for Carl in Nottingham would be the obvious stage for a fight with Hopkins,” said Hearn. “But Carl is also highly regarded in America and Las Vegas could be another option.”
Canadian Lucian Bute, holder of the International Boxing Federation super-middleweight title and a slick southpaw, is another target.
“The funny thing about Carl is that he only wants the toughest fights,” explained Hearn. “I’ve said to him, when the Super Sixes is over, let’s get an easier fight in a football stadium in the UK and make millions of dollars. But he doesn’t want that. He just wants to fight the best out there.”

Sure, he can blame the loss on the fight not being in the UK, and go about his business

thats the problem with this weight hopping is that there are still a few good fights at 168 for froch. he doesnt need to fight hopkins.

This is boxing and shit changes within a few hours. Too many variables would have to happen for a Froch-Hops fight.
1) Froch has to beat Ward
2) Hops has to beat Dawson
3) If Cloud beats Pascal, that is likely the fight HBO will push for for the winner of the Hops-Dawson fight.
4) Showtime will try and match the Super-Six winner up with the winner of the Bute-Kessler fight.
Now if Froch and Hops both end up losing, they could fight each other.

Considering the level of competition Froch has fought these past couple years, and the fact he's in his mid thirties, then I wouldn't have a problem with him moving to LHW. Froch's always been a pretty big SMW.

Re: Froch wants Hops after Super-Six
reasons why Froch mentions fighting BHOP:
1-he likes to talk
2-he isn't young. He is 33 and has gone through Pascal, Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, and Glen Johnson. He doesn't have that many fights left and a fight against BHOP would have some money in it and would help his legacy.
3-he wants Rachel to utter the phrase, "Come on Carl, beat grandpa's ass"
