Correct me if i'm wrong, and Ward fights Abraham? As Al Berstein might say, "intriguing matchups".
Anybody give Glen Johnson a shot at defeating Froch?

ward easily beats abe and johnson may be able to pull out a win against froch. if he throws a ton of punches then it will be a tough fight for froch because froch wont be able to hurt him.

I don't know about Carl not being able to hurt Johnson, he's a strong Super Middleweight who packs enough pop to earn peoples respect.

I fear the Froch we saw last night ends Johnson's career.

The things that shocked me about Froch's performance last night were his discipline and his focus. Hed never let his ego get in the way of being smart. EXTREMELY impressive.

Still doesn't mean Glen's going to walk through Carl's shots and smile like Margarito.

The weight still bothers me for Johnson. He looked like a mummy at the Green fight weigh in. Remember this is the second time he's making 168 in a DECADE! Now Johnson is a pro who takes good care of himself outside of the ring, but ballooning to nearly cruiser against Cloud at 175 still is something to be worried about.
Besides, he beat ALLAN GREEN. Seriously. Green. Froch may not be a Floyd but he certainly is world class (he has stepped up on numerous occasions). Bika, Bute, Abraham, Andrade all would have stopped Green as well.

I think to say that Froch doesn't have enough pop to hurt Johnson is foolish. Froch boxed beautifully. he showed what he is capable of when he has his thinking head on. in all of Froch's other fights he went into them undefeated, now he has been beaten he realises that will and grit are not enough alone to overcome such fierce competition. Robert McCracken is possibly the best trainer in the UK right now. He has Froch's full respect and trust and as long as McCracken can come up with the gameplan and Froch can execute it then Froch should be able to compete at the very top against the very best of what the World Championship scene can offer.
I really think that Froch could use a similar gameplan to the one that totally bemused Arthur Abrham against Johnson. I think Froch will also be able to hit Johnson a lot cleaner than he did Abraham but he will need to keep him at range as i don't think Froch has an inside game. The combination punching that Froch used against Abraham will be useful against Johnson, especially them strong uppercuts that come straight through the middle. Froch has a very good chin and good stamina, i fail to see that Johnson's workrate will be enough to grind a beast like Froch down.
I was impressed by Froch's workrate and i haven't seen him stay as busy and look as fresh since he was fighting on the domestic scene. he looked a lot fresher in the fight than he did against Kessler. Froch's last few fights have been a learning curve for him, before Jermain Taylor and even Jean Pascal, Carl always had a reputation for doing things the hard way and the fights that followed were to prove that to be right. Maybe the loss to Kessler was a bit of a wake up call for Carl, his amateur pedigree was excellent and he did not achieve what he did through being a skill-less boxer. Froch looks every bit the experienced World level fighter and hungry champion. he has done things the hard way and has proved the doubters wrong which is why i am a massive fan of Carl Froch. i love his cocky persona, i don't see it as arrogant, i see it as a man that is being very calculated about what he says into a camera lens. And even if he is arrogant, it helps to have confidence installed in yourself 100% if you are to be a successful prizefighter! i've got massive respect for Carl Froch, he fights anybody he has to be the best at what he does. that is the way we want our Champions right?

I agree Puncher, Ward should take care of business against Abraham, but I hope not, styles make fights, so we shall see.
In re: Road Warrior vs Froch, Glen certainly has a shot, I look forward to seeing this one.
BTW, I hope they give Johnson a nice check for this 168 lb. title fight.

To tell you the truth I want to See Froch beat Johnson because if Glenn is even able to beat a top SMW its a slap in the face to the tourney, even more if he even wins it all (highly doubt it regardless). I do think Froch will dominate him though.
Ward should out class Abraham, but Abraham always has a punchers chance. Well Ward did luck out because Abraham is the easiest opponent between him and Glenn.
