Ken Hershman is the Czar of boxing right now
Just wish Showtime would just ignore the ABC belts. They would do a lot better if they did. Belts mean nothing. Having top ranked fighters actually fight each other does. They need to do a better job showing they are doing just that.

What gets me is Showtime got Farhood the former Ring editor and now a member of the ranking committee. You'd think he'd be all for ignoring the BS belts. I think even Albert is part of the ranking panel as well

You seem to care more than anyone else. Who gives a fuck? They're televising and making the best fights. The belts seem important to the fighters which is why they pay the fee's, so until you convince the fighters not pay the fees for the belts that they find important we will continue to have this problem. Showtime is making the best fights possible and you continue to look at the negative. Give it a rest already.

Not looking at the negative. I'm a realist. Boxing failing to bring in casual fans because it's a mess and the media and networks are as much of the problem.
Nobody knows who The real champs are or who the top fighters in a division are. Because nobody can stay on the same page. Why boxing only got one mainstream name.
Martinez is The Middleweight Champ, but it means nothing to casual fans when the media and networks credit 10 other guys as being Middleweight Champ. Why Martinez because of the lack of big names will never be a big name
And as long as fighters keep being credited as a Champion for having WBC Intergalatic belt, they'll keep going after them to pads their resume

Who is the media parading around as the MW champ besides Martinez?
He was Fighter of the Year in 2010 because he put in the best fights available
HBO forced the Williams rematch and paid for the Pavlik fight

Stum is credited as a Middleweight champ. And HBO will credit Zibik as the WBC Middle Champ when he fights Bum Jr. And you can bet HBO and the media will scream with giddy that Bum Jr is a champ if he get's the strap the WBC basically handing to him without having to fight Martinez

Re: Showtime still has its Super Six Super Middle Weights
WBC Zbik
WBA Sturm, Golovkin, N'Jikam
IBF Sylvester
WBO Pirog
6 MW strap holders and none of them is considered the true MW champ
They might call themselves "champs" but nobody is buying it
Martinez name might not be known, but Ill bet you anything more people know him than these guys

Hopefully Top Ranks new relationship with Showtime means Kelly Pavlik can get into the 168lb mix.
Sucks Librado Andrade is with Golden Boy, wish he was promoted by Interbox.

Would of been nice to see Shumenov vs Andrade, Goossen supposedly wanted to make that before Shu fired him as his promoter
