He makes a lot more fighting at home than what any promoter/network could offer him to fight the best at 126

Does he really ?? I don't see how facing nobodies in Indonesia would earn more than facing Gamboa or JuanMa stateside.

He's their super star
Remember reading that HBO/Arum wanted Gamboa vs John, but $ wasnt close to what he'd earn facing Saucedo (the most recent can victim)

John has faced more (but not much at all) legit opposition than Ottke ever did. The thing with fighting in the US for a foreign fighter like John is he can only "work" in the US for a limited time of the year over the course of the year. he'd probably have to pay a ridiculous level of tax as well and he isn't exactly a massive star like Pacquaio is for instance so the money he'd be getting for a fight wouldn't be great anyway. As Gomez said, in Indonesia he is a star, he doesn't have to pay out as large expenses fighting at home and he probably does make more money. if he leaves Indonesia then what is the likelihood he will make money through other souces outside of the ring? in Indonesia he can do that. i understand what your gripe is but to be fair John has at least faced Juan Manuel Marquez and (on paper) has the win over him. that one fight alone is more than anything Sven Ottke ever did that can be perceived as a recognizable accomplishment. i hear what you are saying though, Featherweight is becoming one of the most exciting and stacked divisions in World Boxing and John seems to have gone missing. Arum has the 2 fastest rising stars in the division though and enough money/power to entice John into the ring

Good news is, because John been fighting cans, he's dropped in the rankings, and when Gamboa and Lopez fight it'll be for The Ring belt.
So John refusing to leave Indonesia won't raod block it

another moral victory for the fans, wahey. however, can we really see a Gamboa vs Lopez match-up happening anytime soon all the time both fighters are carrying shows successfully on their own under the same banner????

Gamboa vs JuanMa will definitely happen at some stage, the question is will both still be undefeated when they meet ??

of course they will. Uncle Bob isn't going to jeopardise a Superfight on this scale between 2 undefeated rising stars by putting either of them in against somebody that will beat them...... like Caballero for instance.....
