Every doctor that signs off on Taylor being fit to fight need to lose their medical licences for malpractice

Until that KD, the fight was going as I expected. JT was displaying the physical gifts he had while also showing some technical and mental flaws. The opponent was a step up but was overwhelmed by the moment or JT's jab for much of the fight. He doesn't sound brain damaged in the thick tongue way but he doesn't sound all there either. I will be interested to see where they go from there.

Re: Jermain Taylor postfight interview
watched the 9th round. DVR'd the fights last night and I'll watch in full today. Just from watching the 9th round:
1-Taylor is going to get KO'd badly against a top level fighter. When hit clean with a right hand he just can't take it.
2-Taylor still hold his left hand low. He doesn't hold his left hand high enough to partially deflect a right hand.
I hope JT retires. I think he could compete with top level fighters at 160. He might even be ahead going into the late rounds. But eventually a right hand is going to land and he is going to get KO'd violently.
I hope my opinion changes after watching the full fight and interview, but I doubt it.

Where does Taylor rank historically? He beat the greatest middleweight of all time twice so Ring Mag must have him like right around 3, huh?

Re: Jermain Taylor postfight interview
Taylor should retire before he gets seriously injured. The man had a pretty good career and did all we can ask of a fighter. He fought just about everyone that was around at that weight class at the time. B-Hop x2, Winky, Kassim Ouma, Cory Spinks, Pavlik x2, Lacy, Froch, and Abraham all in a row. That's not a bad run even though he didn't win all those fights. If more fighters would do what Taylor did boxing would be a lot more exciting. He has nothing left to prove and should hang em up.

I give JT a lot of credit because he is one of the few guys that would seemingly fight anyone. Hopefully they don't bring him back against a top guy yet if at all.

Re: Jermain Taylor postfight interview
I'm watching the fight now.
Taylor landed a 3 punch combo in round 5 and Truax landed a left hook in return.
Truax landed a good right hand in round 6. Taylor stepped in and tied up.
He wasn't hurt either time (and I know he is going to get hurt in a few rounds as I already watched that on youtube), but top 5 guys are all bigger, stronger, and punch much harder than Truax. He is going to risk his health. He just doesn't have the ability to take shots over a long fight (and he hasn't knocked anyone out early in many, many, many, years).

Truax right hand landed in round 7. Taylor holds. Not hurt.
Taylor relies on reflexes for defense. He doesn't hold his left hand high enough.
He tires as a fight goes on (because he may be too tense in the ring), and later in fights when he is tiring, his reflexes aren't as sharp, and guys are going to land the right hand over that low left hand.

damn that interview was awesome. He seemed like speedy gonzalez on crystal meth. Insane.
He is much harder to understand when he is talking than when he was younger. Some permanent damage may have already been done.

He lost his fucking mind if he's satisfied with that performance. Unless we missed something, he's only been knocked out three times, Jermain said four.

And Ali said this JT is the guy that's suppose to dethrone Sergio Martinez lol. JT should have stayed retired, it looks like Pavlik, Froch, Lacy and his last opponent knock some sense out of him when they dropped him. There's nothing special about JT. He's maybe a great athlete, but his chin isn't that good, no killer instinct and is boring as fuck.
