His past of making every athlete he's worked with better? Yes, he did a lot of it illegally and ruined some careers, but he only ruined the careers he made for the most part. At the end of the day he's among the best in his profession and has either figured out how to cheat better or work cleanly. Either way he produces results.

He was relatively honest. A lot of athletes lied or have managed to avoid serious punishment, but Conte basically took his lumps and actually worked with the prosecutors. He took a big initial hit, but it didn't kill his career he's really good at what he does and people are willing to work with someone with a questionable past if he's the best.
