Mexico's Super Fight Agreed To? Canelo vs Chavez Jr March 2012

Could the biggest fight in Mexican boxing land in Las Vegas? Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum says a possible fight between Mexican rivals Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez could take place in the month of March, instead of April, and at 158-pounds, which is one pound above the proposed catch-weight of 157. Arum is still discussing the possibility of such a fight with Alvarez's promoter, Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions.
Chavez, the WBC middleweight champion, would go down by two pounds and Alvarez, the WBC champion at 154, would come up by four pounds
"The fight is going to be agreed upon for 158 pounds," said Arum, who hopes to reach an agreement in the coming weeks. "but will be in March at a Las Vegas casino.

Wonder which WBC strap will be on the line? 154 or 160?
FERNANDO Beltrán, promotor de Julio César Chávez Júnior, declaró ayer en su visita al DF que: "Es un hecho para marzo de 2012 la pelea entre el Júnior y Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez".
Y agregó sobre la esperada contienda entre los dos campeones del mundo: "Solamente falta que se diga la fecha y el sitio, pero será en marzo, posiblemente en Las Vegas".
Beltrán asentó también que combatirán en peso pactado: en 158 libras

If the fight is at 158 then it can only be for Chavez's strap.

This fight has to happen now! because Angulo will soon need his madatory shot at Canelo and Martinez will be looking for his title back from Chavez. Both guys will get their asses handed to them soon. BTW this fight should happen in Mexico DF.

Come on. You think the WBC will allow that? They'll make Canelo "Super Champ" or some shit, and the same for Bum Jr when he ducks Martinez.

Be a HUGE fight in Mexico and they know Angulo is a limited brawler

Angulo is a limited brawler, but I'm not sold on Canelo's chin.

Can Chavez Jr make 158? He was 160 and then weighed over 180 in the ring when he won the belt. That is the definition of struggling to make weight.
