Jones vs Anderson
Am I the only one who thinks Jones would crush Silva? I just look at this matchup as the worst possible guy for him to fight.
Jones is 2 inches taller and has a 7 yes 7 inch reach advantage. Also jones has amazing boxing skills for an mma fighter (the best I have seen so far). I think he would be a nightmare for silva who is use to being the taller longer and faster fighter. In this fight he has none of those advantages.
What do you guys think?

Re: Jones vs Anderson
A lot of people would take Jones. Anderson is too scared to accept that fight and wants to fight the much smaller GSP instead.

He would kill GSP IMO if they fight soon. I know Anderson had a great fight his last time out but I think he is on the decline.freakzilla wrote:A lot of people would take Jones. Anderson is too scared to accept that fight and wants to fight the much smaller GSP instead.
Re: Jones vs Anderson
I agree. GSP walks around at 190. Anderson walks around at 220. Too much of a difference. Jones walks around at 230 which is only 10 pounds heavier than Anderson. I think a Jones-Anderson fight makes more sense.

Re: Jones vs Anderson
Yeah it would be a massive selling fight. Might be a better selling fight than the GSP fight. I know there is a lot of people who dont buy GSP fights because of how boring they are and Jones is becoming a huge name right now.freakzilla wrote:I agree. GSP walks around at 190. Re: Jones vs Anderson
GSP is still actually the 2nd biggest ppv seller after Brock Lesnar. Anderson is way down on the list.

That surprises me that he is that high. I think he is kinda boring. But I guess people like Floyd in the boxing world too.freakzilla wrote:GSP is still actually the 2nd biggest ppv seller after Brock Lesnar. Anderson is way down on the list.
Re: Jones vs Anderson
Jones vs. Silva will and never should happen.
The reason why it SHOULDN'T happen is because MMA doesn't have enought weight classes. There is a 20 pound difference between Middleweight and Light Heavyweight. Silva took the fight at LHW vs Griffin because Griffin sucks.
The reason why it WON'T happen is because Dana White will never let it happen. Anderson Silva is the #1 rated p4p fighter in MMA and losing to Jon Jones would ruin his marketability and hurt the company overall.

Re: Jones vs Anderson
Lol at Ali saying GSP should move up and not Anderson. These are their regular pre-training camp weights-
Jon Jones= 230
Anderson Silva= 220
GSP= 190
It's obvious if there were to be a super fight which 1 would be the fairest.

Re: Jones vs Anderson
P4P #1 vs P4P 2
6'1 vs 5'10
It's not a crazy or unfair fight, especially when GSP has trained with many Middleweights and LHW's in the past.

Anderson has moved up and back down for big fights.
BJ Penn has moved up twice for the big GSP fights.
GSP has not moved up or down once. It's his turn, it's only fair.

Forrest was a big fight? Anderson is too scared to move up to fight Rua, Evans, Rampage or Jones.

Re: Jones vs Anderson
Out of those top guys who does he beat? I say he beats up Evans and Rampage. Rua gives a run for his money and Jones KO's him in a great fight.freakzilla wrote:Shaun wrote:Anderson has moved up and back down for big fights.

Re: Jones vs Anderson
Rua beat the bigger Machida and I think a 100% healthy Rua beats Anderson. Jones beats Anderson and I think Rashad with his wrestling beats him also. If Sonnen gave Anderson hell what would the much bigger Rashad do? Rampage is the only 1 I think Anderson beats.

Re: Jones vs Anderson
I think Silva is scared but also Jones is the current next big thing. He is, as far as I know, the most talented MMA'er ever but is still very young and a little raw. White is protecting Jones just as much as Silva is scared. It is horrible for the UFC if Silva pulls out a win and then retires in the next year or 2.

Rua and Silva are friends, Anderson would never fight a loyal friend.
LOL at Silva being scared of Page and Evans, he'd make them his bitch.

I really hope that Silva fights either GSP or Jones. But I want him to fight Jones it would be an awesome fight.Ali wrote:freakzilla wrote:Shaun wrote:Anderson has moved up and back down for big fights.

I have no interest in a Silva vs Jones fight right now, Bones has only appeared on the scene, he needs to defend his belt against some contenders before a fight like this can be considered.
Silva and GSP have cleaned out their division so it makes sense for them to meet.

They better make the fight soon if they want Silva to have a chance. Jones is only going to get better and Silva is on his way down.Ali wrote:Soonermark890 wrote:I really hope that Silva fights either GSP or Jones. Re: Jones vs Anderson
Anderson's camp has made it very clear he will not be jumping to LHW before he retires. Anderson is 36 years old and his best bud Machida is still in the LHW title picture. Anderson has a tough fight against the last man to beat him(technically). Even if that wasn't a true loss, Okami is a tough bastard. Now you have Mayhem vs Bisping for a title shot. Anderson should be busy until he retires, which shouldn't be too far away.
