LMAO - Arum: Mayweather asked for $100 million

Promoter Bob Arum told reporters in the Philippines on Monday that Floyd Mayweather Jr. asked for $100 million to fight Manny Pacquiao, effectively pricing himself out of the megafight.

Arum and fellow promoter Don King reportedly had a private negotiation in an effort to make the fight. South Africa was rumored to a possible site.

"Some group came in wanting to put it in a particular country," Arum told the reporters. "And Mayweather asked for a number so high that he indicated he didnt' want the fight. Take a guess what number he asked for himself … 100 million … for himself. Who will pay him 100 million? I mean, unless Manny fights for nothing, how do you do that? ..." Arum told the reporters.

"(Mayweather) can't say no, he doesn't want to fight him, so he prices himself out."

Mayweather has a court date late next month on assault and other charges.

I agree there is a bit of Arum wanting to rip Mayweather in the media rather than focus on making the fight. But if he really did start out at 100 million then he really doesn't want the fight.

Mayweather is dumb, but he's paid to fight. Bob's paid to be smart. He doesn't need to prove that Mayweather's dumb because Floyd has handled that on his own. He also doesn't need to try and shoulder the blame for not making the fight on Mayweather because most people have already picked sides. He needs to make the fight or own up to it and apologize for not being able to make the fight.

I think you wrote a perfect what they should have said comment for DiBella about a potential Martinez v. Pirog fight. Bob should have said, "Here's Floyd's outrageous demand, AND here's the reasonable thing I did in response to Floyd being an idiot to try and make the fight." $ demands have not been the issue with making the fight, it's been testing. If that got figured out I think the $ would probably work itself out.

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has faith in the Chicago Bulls. Or at least in Derrick Rose.

Mayweather posted a picture on his Twitter account Wednesday morning of a betting slip from the M Resort in Las Vegas that showed he won $37,272.75 on the Bulls, who faced the Atlanta Hawks the previous night.

The tweet read: "My lil brother Derrick Rose will always get you Paid."

According to the photo, Mayweather made a halftime bet that the Hawks wouldn't outscore the Bulls by six points or more in the second half. The Bulls made 73.8 percent of their shots in the first half, which ended with a Rose 3-pointer, to go up 72-43.

Mayweather apparently laid down the expensive halftime bet with the Bulls getting 5.5 points.

The visiting Bulls outscored Atlanta 42-38 in the second half, easily winning the bet for Mayweather.

"We can't really discuss it," M Resort sportsbook supervisor Jorgen Johnson said in a phone conversation. "It's a privacy issue. He does like to put his tickets on Twitter."


No wonder why he doesn't want to box. He's making too much money gambling.
