Here's hoping HBO's soon to be new managment get's the clue. HBO crew don't want to credit the trinkets, and Max becoming more and more vocal about his dislike for HBO's policy to do so.

Lampley was on Ring Talk, and pretty much said the same thing. He'd like too, but it's HBO policy.

If HBO ignored them, all money see monkey do people in the media would fall in line.

ESPN does a good job of focusing on the big picture. They will acknowledge belts, but don't glorify them. They could have discussed whether he would move up in any alphabet organizations or timeline for getting a "title shot". Instead they spent their time discussing where he should be in the overall pecking order and argued he should be around 5 or 6 in the ring rankings.

Tessitore will mention the sanctioning organization rankings on occasion, but overall they do look for ring rankings during their telecast (especially BK in the studio).

Lennox didn't have to. They were all stripped away one by one until he was left with just the WBC and IBO trinkets - it didn't matter, everyone recognised him as the only true and legit lineal Ring champion.

Just hold onto The Ring belt, which doesn't charge a sanctioning fee or force bullshit manditories, and dump the belts.

Why this would be good for the division. For one, it makes a stand that ABC belts are a joke.

And two, these HW bums are just sitting around waiting for their bullshit manditory shot and payday. Dump the trinkets, and they'll go after them, and maybe start fighting each other for one.

Then Wlad can take on winners of the trinket grab fest.

And yet everybody criticizes Riddick Bowe for doing just that by claiming he was "ducking" Lewis.

That totaly different. Lewis was a worthy contender who had beat Bowe at the Olympics for the gold.

He wasn't the bum of the month manditories that Klits have to face. Bowe dumping belts had nothing to do with taking a stand. He just didn't want to fight Lewis.

Tarver did when won Ring belt against Jones. Morales did to when got Ring belt and refused to pay sanctioning fees for WBC. And Casa only held onto The Ring belt.

tarver i dont think actualy gave up his belt.he was striped for fighting glen johnson instead of a manditory.johnson and he were the 2 top LHS at that time and fought each other because that was the fight boxing fans wanted to see and it was the best matchup since both koed jones.thats how i remember it.
when lewis was striped of a few belts i remember there were 2 fights in which either he or the promoter wanted in announced as for the REAL hw championship of the world.and it was announced that way.bottom line wlad isnt going to give up any belts on his own.

That was Rock Newman's influence on Bowe. They offered Lewis a paltry deal that they knew he wouldn't accept and then Newman convinced him to dump the belt. Newman ruined that kid's career. As a pro, I think Bowe beats Lewis in a barn burner.

Yeah. Point it, totaly different circumstances. If Vitali threw his WBC trinket in the trash because he refused to fight the total joke manditory Austin, nobody except a total moron would say Vitali was ducking him.

Fact that Austin was # 1 manditory is criminal.
