Roy Jones wants to die
Vladimir Hryunov, manager of top cruiserweight Denis Lebedev (21-1, 16KOs) of Russia, has confirmed BoxingScene.com's report about a possible fight taking place with former four division champion Roy Jones Jr. (54-7, 40KOs) of the United States. There are ongoing negotiations to hold the fight in late April in Moscow.
"Indeed, those discussions are taking place. We are in very close contact with Jones' lawyer [John Wirt of Square Ring], and actually we only have a few more details to work out and I hope that we will reach an agreement soon. I don't think that it's going to take too long," Hryunov said.

Only thing sadder than a guy who just won't give it up is having to watch what happens to him after. Roy is doing a great job on HBO, he should stick to that while he can still use most of his brain.

You'd think HBO giving Roy a contract would put an end to these pointless endeavors.

Re: Roy Jones wants to die
I am convinced my decade+ old prediction for Jones has come true. I always said that he would one day look back at his career with regret and longing. He avoided and dodged so many challenges for so long. The TRULEY great fighters in our sport always challenged themselves. They always wanted to know if the COULD do it (whomever or whatever "it" might have been for them) MORE than the fans wanted to know. Jones never seemed to want to know. He never seeme to care. I think he really thought that his prime was gonna last forever and he had as long as he wanted to finally "take the challenge" and test himself to see just what he "really" had in that chest of his. When he finally decided it was "time", he had already lost the race to father time. I have heard it said that Jones knew all along that he could not beat certain fighters and so he just simply never fought them. I used to believe that as well, but no longer. His recent actions have led me to believe he simply wasnt sure he could, and now, he regrets the fact that he never tried and is attempting to 'fill the hole" with something, anything.

About 18 months ago, Dougie Fisher said basically the same thing in his mailbag. He was fearful that Mayweather may pull a Roy Jones and wait till he is past it to finally push himself.

It's only a matter of time before Jones pulls his usual BS and gets fired by HBO again.

I know Jones Jr has his fans who think he does a good job on HBO, but i'm not one of them, I can't stand listening to him.
