Freddie Roach to train Danny Jacobs
Freddie Roach is going to start training middleweight contender Daniel Jacobs (21-1, 18KOs) for his next bout, which is scheduled to take place on the Saul Alvarez-Matthew Hatton undercard on March 5 in Anaheim, California. Roach confirmed the information to OnTheGrindBoxing.com. Jacobs is building himself back up after getting knocked out by Dmitry Pirog last July. He came back in December to stop Jesse Orta in two rounds.
"We're going to start working out for the March 5th date. I look forward to working with Danny Jacobs and see if we can make some improvements," Roach said.

Freddy has way too many fighters. Pac, Kahn, and then a bunch of others. He really is stretching himself a bit thin.

It keeps Freddie going, if he cut back it would probably have a negative effect on his health.

Pac will retire soon & the way he's going, Khan might not last long with Roach.captainanddew wrote:Freddy has way too many fighters. Pac, Kahn, and then a bunch of others. He really is stretching himself a bit thin.

Re: Freddie Roach to train Danny Jacobs
Pac and Kahn are the type of guys that have 6-8 week training camps. If each fights twice then there is 24-32 weeks of the year that Roach is focused on those 2 guys. Add in Chavez Jr., Kayode, Vanes martirosan, etc.... and there just isn't time for him to focus on enough of his fighters.
And with guys like Kahn and Pac there is press tours, etc.., which you don't have for lesser fighters. Those 2 guys really do eat up a ton of his time.
