Disappointed that no American TV outlet is picking this up...

Re: The Unification
So we got a Light HW" unification" fight with 8th ranked fighter, Shumenov, and a guy that's not even ranked.
Reason, 100,000,000 why networks need to stop recognizing these pointless straps.

they need to stop recognizing the useless straps and start recognizing that a guy like Shumenov is in good fights and needs to be picked up.

Re: The Unification
Forget the trinkets it's a good fight between two solid Light Heavyweights, the winner is a potential future opponent for Tavoris Cloud and Jean Pascal.

Fair enough, but instead fighting an unranked trinketholder, he needs to be getting fights with Cloud, Diaconu, Cleverly.
Those kind of match-ups will get a network like Showtime interested.

Cleverly is the WBO interim trinket holder, so in theory the winner has to face him next.
Brahmer is the perfect opponent for Shumenov at the moment.

Ok, that's cool. Atleast he's staying active, and as long this fights puts him into position to fight the top guys at Light HW.

Re: The Unification
Braehmer could have actually faced Cleverly for a lot more money but cited his underlying legal issues as a reason that the fight could not be made, next thing a fight with Shumenov has been announced in Kazakhstan. i don't know what Braehmer is getting paid for this fight but my guessing is it isn't as much as he would have got if he was fighting Cleverly in England or Wales but anyway.....
From what i understand, Braehmer is a bit of a naughty boy with a somewhat rather aggressive nature. Hopefully this will make for a good fight. There seems to be a lot actually going on around 168lb and 175lb that make for an exciting future for the sport. What's exciting is that these match-ups are actually being made and one by one the potential champions are dropping and only the elite standing. surely this is what we want for the sport if it is going to continue to be successful?? it needs the US TV market to invest in fights like these if they are going to make potential future fights more lucrative. giving these "trinketholders" exposure is only going to be going for the US market when a home product fighter has to come up against one of these because at some point it will happen! i think that is what the Super 6 has helped to achieve, the fighters from not just the US but outside have been given the right exposure for the US audience to become interested when their own product is fighting one of them. ok these may be ABC unifications but maybe it's fights like these that the US tv networks need to be showcasing. The difference between the UK market and US market at the moment is that in the UK there is only 1 TV network broadcasting boxing at the moment, in the US you have HBO, Showtime, ESPN etc etc.... when it comes to fights like Shumonev - Braehmer, it would surely benefit each TV network for one of them to broadcast it so that the other networks can kind of work together and it will help future broadcasts of fights with these fighters in it. the problem is you have a big greedy company like HBO that come in with their blank cheque(check)book and ruin it for everyone by trying to single handedly control the Boxing market

By the way Freaks, it looks like ESPN3.com will have coverage of next week's Shumenov-Brahmer 175 unification from Kazakhstan.
Good job ESPN
