Vanes Martirosyan needs a new promoter ASAP

BoxingScene.com has been advised that undefeated junior middleweight contender Vanes "The Nightmare" Martirosyan (28-0 17 KOs) will be returning to the ring on February 5th at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, California. The fight versus an opponent to be determined will headline a Top Rank Live card that will be televised by Foxsports Espanol (not sure if on english channel).

Martirosyan has been idle since he cruised to an easy decision victory this past June over the then undefeated Joe Green.

Martirosyan had been on the shortlist of candidates to face Miguel Cotto in March but Cotto's team opted to face veteran Ricardo Mayorga instead.

Struggled against Greene ? he outclassed him. Ouma was a good learning experience for Vanes.

He's a rising prospect who's wasting away at Top Rank, the kid needs a better promoter.

Ive seen his best vs Ouma and he lost that fight

If there's a rematch, Ouma owns him

As for needing a new promoter? Are you kidding? Arum got him on HBO, Showtime, PPV under cards, and already has him slated for a fight on Top Rank Live

Vanes was only 23 when he fought Ouma, the kid is still learning and needs more experience under his belt.

Top Rank have had him sitting doing nothing for 6 months, and now he's been passed over for a washed up Mayorga and will instead headline a crappy PPV against a nobody. Can you really say that is beneficial for his career ?

He was going to get killed vs Cotto

Now he gets to headline a show on Fox Sports

And he wasnt passed over, HBO turned down the fight
Arum pitched Cotto vs Vanes for 1.5 million but they said no

I just dont see much behind him, I think once he faces a top 15-20 Jr WW he's through

Miguel Cotto is the draw, he's going to sell PPV's regardless of the opponent. Mayorga hasn't been active at Jr Middle since that fight with Mosley back in 08, the fight is a complete joke.
