all of roach's fighters end up getting KO'd so povetkin will be no different.

Correct- He is getting KO'd. Correct-he is what he is already.
Povetkin is in his 30s, had a gazillion amateur fights, and has been a pro for a long time. he isn't going to change. He is a little soft looking in appearance. He isn't nearly assertive enough in the ring. Eddie Chambers was outboxing him for half a fight and then just plain froze (and not when Povetkin had done anything to change the fight).
To paraphrase someone from Ringside (whatever the sky sports boxing podcast is called), when fighters keep changing trainers they need to pull a Michael Jackson and look at the "man in the mirror". A lot of these guys that seem to really go through trainers (guys like Povetkin, Dawson, etc....) are very similar. Guys who have good amateur backgrounds, pretty good skills, but don't seem to love the sport or display real assertiveness in the ring.
Boxing is simple. Throw a stiff jab. Sit down on your punches and let them go. Defend well. And when you get a guy hurt go after him. All the trainers in the world can come in and tell a guy to do these things, but as long as the fighters have the mental makeup of a Povetkin or a Dawson, nothing will change.
Trainers can't change the mental makeup of a fighter that easily. It is something inside them. You get in the ring and it reveals what you are.
Trainers like Roache are more helpful in taking guys who have a real assertiveness and physical talent and improving their technique and ring iq (like he did with Pac who had talent but hadn't been really taught the sport up to that time).

All had been KO'd by lesser competition prior to training with Roach. These are chinny guys that Roach got the most out of and they were KO'd but top competition only after Roach took them to the top and they won belts. Don't blame Roach, he gets the most out of his fighters.

Roach is an overrated trainer. He has never ha a homegrown champion. He is a big name trainer because of Pacquiao but most of the fighters that go to him see little success.
