Jorge Linares could relocate to LA, might train with Freddie Roach

The possibility exists that former two-division world champion Jorge “Niño de Oro” Linares could be the next high profile boxer to be trained by the renowned trainer Freddie Roach. Linares has expressed a desire to move from Japan to Los Angeles and is expected to begin campaigning in the USA during in the first quarter of 2011 according to the plans of Golden Boy Promotions. Also being mentioned as a possibility is trainer Joel Diaz, but whether the new trainer is Roach or Diaz, fitness trainer Alex Ariza would be part of the team. Linares could relocate to Los Angeles as soon as late December.

A fitness trainer would be huge for Linares. I love Roach, but Linares' holes are in his defense. I'm not sure if it's the right fit.
