if this fight actually happens then its ridiculous. lopez should be fighting top fighters at 140. he has a good career ahead of him there.

lopez looked a little soft weighing in at 144.5 or 145. I can't blame him for taking the big payday.

Canelo faces baldomir, rhodes, cintron, mosley. all guys that older and/or shot. Rhodes only one considered a threat of any type and he was 34 or 35 at the time.

Canelo faces smaller guys like Cotto's brother, Gomez, Hatton, and now possibly, Lopez.

When he does step up, if he fails, the blame will fall on his promoter and his management.

this is total nonsence.look by now all should know how i feel about weights of fighters.if they were 5 or 6 pounds apart i feel its no big deal.hes not to big..but forget todays mickey mouse weigh inns.alvarez is a full blown 160 pound fighter.lopez is a legit 140 pound fighter..alvarez will come in at his normal 168 lopez under normal circumstances 144..thats 24 pounds which is huge for smaller guys.
this fight will take away 50-90 thousand ppvs from the chavez fight.its done for spite.the 2 promoters will never work together in a resonable way..

i cant blame him for taking the big payday either. i mean what is he going to do? say no to his biggest career payday by far and hope for another big fight? he knows that even if he loses, it gets him more exposure. i dont at all blame lopez. i would do the same thing. the promoters are idiots. in no way would that fight be any sort of competition against chavez-martinez.

Lets look at Canelo's last 3 opponents.

Mosley, 0-2-1 in his previous 3 fights going into the Canelo fight.

Cintron - 1-2 in his previous 3 fights going into the Canelo fight and that 1 win was vs Antwone Smith. What was Kermit's significant win? Vs Angulo 3 years ago.

Alfonso Gomez - No significant wins unless u wanna count a shot Arturo Gatti and scrubs from the Contender show 5 years ago.

Dont bring up Canelo's age when they're already prepping him to headline PPV's.

Guys like Broner and Russell get criticized for their opposition so dont act like Canelo is the only one getting criticized
