I lost ALL respect I had for Paul Williams after he said he rightfully won his fight vs. Lara.

Just found this pic today.

Round 11, a DOMINANT round for Lara, was given to Williams on two scorecards. This would have given Lara the decision victory. Wow.

I just can't see Williams in any relevant fights. He's been exposed by Martinez. He's pretty much done in boxing.

He can still do well at '54 against an orthodox fighter.

I don't understand the OP though, why would a guy admit he lost a close fight? Especially a guy like Williams whose team claimed that Martinez landed a lucky punch (13 times in four minutes) when he KO'd Williams. I think that we put too much stock in what boxers say minutes after finishing a fight. The guy just spent the previous 36 minutes getting punched in the face. Their emotions and adrenaline are through the roof. Factor in pride and/or frustration and you're going to possibly get an emotional/ incoherent interview. This was a bad decision, I don't think he won but I wasn't the one in there fighting. Williams was cut badly but Lara had a fucking softball on his head. Williams only saw his opponent and probably thought he had the look of a loser. http://www.proboxing-fans.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/williams-lara-results8.jpg Everyone who saw that fight thought Williams lost but I put zero stock in the opinion of a guy that looks like this after a fight:http://www.proboxing-fans.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/williams-lara-results9.jpg

Hardcore, Williams lost almost every round. It was far from a close fight, the reason why the judges got disciplined by the commission for their bogus scorecards. It's also not the first time Williams gets a gift decision from the judges.

Thats fine and wasnt my point but you want a guy that just got head punched in to admit on TV that he lost? Especially a guy like williams?
