This was the least upsetting as Segura has no defense and Viloria is a good puncher. Now I see why Segura never wanted to fight Gonzalez lol

The right side of Segura’s head was grotesquely swollen after three rounds. Viloria seemed to be fading in the middle rounds as Segura came on. Viloria staggered Segura in the eighth and bout was stopped by the referee. Time was :29.

I can see Viloria taking on Gonzalez, hopefully Arum makes it happen and on Top Rank Live.

i just watched it on youtube from a cell phone.it was a good fight.segura won the first two rounds but vilara controled from there.a knot on seguras right side of his head did not effect his vision but it was big.similar to rahdmans forehead after the hollifield butts..the stopage was total nonsence and totaly uncalled for.there was no devastating punch that staggered him nor was he hurt to the point of not being able to defend himself at all nor was he on queer street..he was losing and slowing down and in a few rounds may of been legitimetly stoped.. the stopage was a joke and again tooooooo premature.

According to a report on TV Azteca, Mexico's Giovani Segura will remain hospitalized in the Philippines after the eight round technical knockout he suffered on Sunday [Manila time] in his fight with WBO flyweight Brian Viloria. After the fight was over, Segura was taken to a local hospital. During the fight, Segura had very bad swelling on the right side of his face with his eye swelling shut. The boxer's team members report that he suffered a broken orbital bone early in the fight and it affected his performance until the end.

Damn if that's true, pretty much he's career is good as over.

why? A broken orbital bone isn't necessarily the end of a fighter's career. Cotto broke Paulie M's jaw and orbital bone in their fight.

heard Segura got a blood clot and will be staying in the Phillipines for a bit. doesn't sound too good, hope he can recover

quick stoppage but the ref may have done segura a favor. that shit on seguras face is grotesque

It was a horrible stoppage and we see guys fight with swelling like that all the time. It was a good fight. Viloria stops his second top Mexican fighter at the lower weights. He stopped Soils also is a great fight. Would it hurt bob to put this guy in an undercard of a big PPV?
