WBO: Brian Viloria Must Face Giovani Segura Within 90 Days

The WBO Championship Committee headed by Luis Batista Salas wants newly crowned flyweight champion Brian Viloria to defend his title against former light flyweight champion Giovani Segura within 90 days.

it is amazing. He just wins the belt and they want him to take a very tough defense. Most of the time we see guys win and then face nobodies forever.

It would be a nice fight but I'd assume he'd want a few weeks to rest before going into camp.

This fight is too smart for HBO to consider it. Besides, even tho Greenbum is out, they prob still shot their wad with the budget already.

I always have loved how HBO shows guys in soft when that fighter (Berto-perfect example) can't draw more than 1500 people to watch him live. Little hint for HBO: if a guy can't draw live then he isn't going to be a big star and isn't a guy the so so boxing fan cares about seeing.

It makes me upset to see HBO repeatedly pay for horrible fights and at the same time seeing what Showtime and FNF do with their smaller budgets. at the end of the day it's the same shit we're always talking about. Promoters don't know how to promote (or are too lazy too) and settle for a casino fee in the middle of nowhere.

HBO should consider showing the little guys. They have the best bang for buck. But I guess most Americans can't come to terms with the fact that a dude who weighs less than their middle school kid could whup their ass lol

I just dont understand how HBO would rather overpay for fights for bigger fighters while they could pay 8times less and get more quality fights. Cut Berto and PWill, and HBO can introduce guys like Segura, Gonzalez, Solis and Wonjongkam. They can make some quality fights by matching up the best little guys vs the best little guys because they dont require very high pay.

Valoria vs Segura would be a good match up, i actually think Segura could possibly lose because of the Valoria's offensive style.

One of the reasons I love Top Rank Live is that these type of fights come on for free (despite the shit production values from Mexican/P.R/Colombian TV crews.)

Segura should at the least be on Showtime.

They have a bunch of good fights that came be made from 108-112 and most of them should be on one of the bigger networks. It sad that they would rather have the crapfest that were: williams vs. cintron amongst others.

Showtime is willing to show smaller guys(still not enough). HBO absolutely refuses to!!! Fuck em.

You can get the little guys for much less. You can do a tripleheader and the total purse could be 1 million and you would be paying the same amount you pay Andre (no fans come to watch me) Berto to fight a tune up!!!!!!

I'm just wondering, has WBO ever made Pac take a manditory? WBO stripped Martinez of his trinket the minute he got it. Don't they got that 90 day rule for title defenses or some bullshit?

he always gets away without having to fight mandatories for a while now. as soon as Maravilla won the WBC belt they stripped him and gave it to Pacquiao my bad he fought Margarito which none were ranked at 154 and oh yeah they fought at 150 meanwhile martinez gets stripped every other week.

thats that bullshit for real. Chocolatito is my favorite fighter right now. I have watched him on tv TWICE!! that is a travesty anyway, when he moves up to 112 and fights segura that fight has to be on a big network right?
