why is ring magazine so expensive

so i went to cvs today and saw the ring magazine issue with pacquiao in front of it so i was going to buy it, but then i saw the price....9.95 or 8.95 something like that. i was like wtf?? i intend to subscribe and get the 13 magazine's for 53 which is of course cheaper but man almost 10 bucks for a magazine? what if a young kid interested in the sport want to purchase a copy? no way anybody's paying that much for just one magazine...heck maxim is only 4 bucks

the middle men make it that much. people got to make money off what they sell. the ring does cover a lot but i get your point about a young audience. the ring is generally aimed at the older audience anyway

but 8.95??? that's insane

My wife just asked me the same thing. Its crazy expensive. As far as a kids reading it not an issue. Kids search google they don't read magazines anymore.

i guess thts why its so expensive because of the internet. it cost me say 7.50 here, it's ok i feel.

Tell me about it, my dad refuses to buy brand names.

Nobody is making money in publishing right now, especially in a small run publication like Ring. Unfortunatley the price is what it is; the whole industry from newspapers on down is getting killed by the web. 10 years from now a printed magazine will be a rare thing indeed.

I hope not, I love reading magazines in the restroom.

i worked it out into dollars. its 4.95 in sterling

Maxim and other mags are cheaper because they got 100 adds in them, and when you open damn magazine up, get tons of those adds falling out. Go look at Esquire or GQ and 50% of the fucking magazine is adds.

The Ring could go the cheap rout like say Boxing Digest, where you don't got color photos and in-depth articles and basicaly cheap as fuck.

When you consider PPVs in HD are $65.....

darn skippy. Every day I check ringtv.com. Good work on that site.

Then I check fightnews and boxingscene-not always good work on those sites, but always fun, especially boxingscene's inclination to have unsubstantiated rumors as the basis of their articles.
