Raiders got raped

Basically 2 1st rd picks for Carson Palmer? Gave up way too much. If this was 05-06 then i'd make that deal. But in 2011 that is RAPE.

Al Davis died, but theyre still making huge mistakes.

I'm a Jet fan, but I think this is a pretty good pick up for the Raiders. Yeah, they gave up a lot, but you get a franchise quaterback (who in my opinion hasn't really been the same since Kimo Von Oelhoffen took out his knee) who came come in and help be a leader on a pretty good young offense. If he can learn the offense quickly, which the Raiders running game can help take pressure off him, the Raiders could be a scary team.

its a first and a second. in order for that second to be a first they would have to a. make the playoffs and b. win one playoff game
they did however get screwed big time. i know they needed a qb and palmer's def. an upgrade...HOWEVER hue jackson has made nothing but GREAT decisions since he's been there so i will not second guess him until we find out what happens later on.
btw now having many picks next year WILL open the door for high value free agents also.

Raiders don't care about first round draft picks. Not with all the first round busts they've gotten. Add on they won't even be top first round picks because they are actually a good team again.

So I don't see it as giving up that much at all for a chance to have a franchise QB.

All 1st rd picks are valuable. It's not like the NBA draft where at any given year there are only 3 or 4 good players and the rest its a crap shoot.

He hasnt played all year and has only had the Raiders playbook for a couple of days. Y'all lucked out having to play the Chiefs this week.

+1 If you watched the top 100 players for the NFL 2010 season on the NFL netwrok, they brought up a stat that most players on their list were taken in the first round.

Not all 1st round draft picks are good. There just as many better 2nd and 3rd rounders.

And Raiders needed a franchise QB to take them to the next level. You can not be a play-off let alone Championship team in todays NFL without one.

And the Raiders will neve draft a 1st round QB. They never have. But Davis got pressure to draft one, and we got JaGarbage.

You can find good players in the outside from the first round, but still most good players are from the 1st round.

Look at the 49es for example, more than half of their starters are former 1st round picks. Alex Smith, B. Edwards, V. Davis, Crabtree, Ginn JR, Staley, A Davis, Iupati, Justin Smith, Aldon Smith, Carlos Rogers, Whitner and Patrick Willis. Not all were drafted by SF, but they are first round picks and most of these guys are key players on this team.

First round picks are highly valuebale, Raiders fuck themselves for the future.

The Raiders have always been prominent in free agents, not draft picks.

The draft is a crap shoot. There are more 1st round busts then there are 1st round studs.

People said same thing that Raiders gave too much for Seymour. Yet Seymour proven to be invaluable to the Raiders. He brought with him a winning mentality. And since Seymour, Raiders haven't just shown up for games for a paycheck. They've actually started to want to win.

The Raiders needed a franchise QB, period. Campbell was a decent QB, but he was going to hold the team down from going to next level. If Palmer is on his game, he can take the Raiders to the next level. Which is what you have to do if want to be a Championship team.

Carson is not a franchise QB.

Palmer > any QB on our roster

Give him DMC and Bush in the backfield, good TE in Boss, and competent young WRs

I like the mix on the offensive side of the ball

actual its win one play off game and thats very possible for this Oakland team thats actually good. They pretty much should cough up two first rounders because I think this team will at least win one playoff game in the next two seasons.

Ok, so they end up coughing up two first round picks if they end up winning a play-off game. I'm failing to see the problem here.

Do you forget the Raiders outside the Lions had the most losing record in the NFL for almost the past ten years? We haven't had a winning record in years, let alone even making it to the play-offs.

Raiders had plenty of prime first round draft picks for almost a decade. They needed a above average QB if they ever wanted to go to next level and be a legit contender. And there just isn't that many avaialble QBs like that.

And Raiders don't got the kind of losing record to get a top QB in the draft. Not to mention the Raiders will never draft a 1st round QB anytime soon after the JaGarbage bust.

According to NFL.com the Raiders would have to make the AFC Championship game in either of the next two years. Fourth paragraph down.
