How many PPV buys will Hops-Dawson get

I just read it has to get atleast 100k buys to break even. That HBO is on the hook for 3 mill even if the PPV boms.

I don't think get's 100k.

I'd like to see the fight but I'm not buying it. The fall is stacked with PPVs-Mayweather, Pac, Cotto/Cheato, that I'd rather use my money on.

Take the total members in this board and divide by two.

150k is my guess. BHop has some momentum after a record-setting exciting fight and it has a solid undercard. I will have my grandpa buy this one and either Pac or Cotto. I will buy the other one.

There is ZERO hype or excitment for this fight. I just don't know how it can sell.

the thing is Hopkins does deserve the big paydays for what he has achieved throughout his career. this is what makes Hopkins such a special athlete and a monster of a man. he fights solely for his legacy. this fight against Dawson is a tough night's work for a nearly 50 year old man that has already cemented his legacy through his stunning career.

i hope that it exceeds 250k to do any sort of justice to Bernard, he is a genuine LEGEND

I'm sure Hops has made good money, and I'm sure they could have shopped this fight around to a network instead of putting it on PPV where it will not sell.

So HBO is broke until next year, take it to Showtime like Hops did against Pascal in the first fight.

Hops isn't going to get any kind real payday for a PPV that likely won't even get 150k buys. Especialy going against the holiday season and two bigger PPVs, Pac and Cotto.

If Showtime budget is gone as well should've pitched it to ESPN. With NBA season, they might poneyed up some extra scratch for the fight.

BHop and Chad will still get paid well. That's why they need 100K sales to break even. 100K is at least 5.5 mil to be split by BHop, Chad, undercard fighters, and advertisement and production fees incurred.

its actually a good card but they just have not promoted this fight at all. the general public has absolutelt NO idea who dawson is. even if chad wins this fight is not going to catapult him into a household name. i guess all roads in this weight class lead to Montreal in a hbo or showtime regular cast.

Let's see...there's friends & relatives, no wait, they get free tix. Hmmmmm.....I figure 2 maybe 3 people in Philly, plus, oh say about 4 or 5 on Chad's side. So, I'll say...9...total.

I asked Richard Schaefer today about Hopkins-Dawson PPV numbers. His answer was simply: "Not good." It likely did less than 100,000.

I knew it!

Hopefully not many people bought it, B-Hop ripped off everyone who paid to see him fight.

Honestly HBO should give refunds for that farce.
