Arce vs. Nongqayi might be a fun fight to check out tonight. Watching fights coming from Mexico is always an adventure and/or cultural experience, plus Jorge Arce is just fun to watch. The action starts tonight @10:00 PM EST on Fox Deportes.

Arce is a very interesting fighter. Forget the lolipop, forget the cowboy hat, forget the circus atmosphere for his fights...

Arce just won't go away!!! He is a resilient dude.
He loses to Mijares in 2007 and then rebuilds his career
Then Vic beats him up in early 2009
He has a comeback fight and then loses to the guy he is rematching this weekend
He wins 3 fights
Then he draws with Parra (a guy he should beat if he still has it)
Comeback fight and then beats Vazquez!!!! Vazquez is a young, learning, fighter, but Arce proved he wasn't done yet.

He just keeps coming back. Is he the guy he was 5-6 years ago? No, but he will come to fight and you can't count him out in the rematch.

Arce is fun to watch, this is suppose to be on Fox Deportes saturday, I think I may get that channel with DirectTV, it's not as easy finding links/streams for fight as it used to be since MyP2P.eu went belly up or quit working.

I sure hope Barker is getting quite a payday.

Who in the hell would want to fight Martinez after he fought a classic battle with PW, beat up Pavlik, absolutely destroyed PW, and then put down Dzinziruk (sp?) a bunch of times before it was stopped????

P.S. I've gotten in pretty good shape (for a 63 year old, old fart) the past 6 months, weights, push-ups sit-ups et al, 3-5 mile walks/runs, so I've been feeling great.

The best thing i've heard some of the Brits say about Barker is that he'll survive the 12 rounds on his feet. I kinda doubt that, he hasn't fought anyone close to having skill & power of Martinez. I don't think this fight will go more than 6 or 7 rounds before Sergio stops him.

As for the Arce fight, it's anyone's guess, Nongqayi is a tough fight for Jorge, but I hope he's able to retain his strap.

I get a kick out of some of the histrionic Spanish speaking announcers, they can be comical, BTW, this fight/card starts @ 10:00 PM EST tonight on Fox Deportes.

This turned out to a really good fight for Arce, he took it to Nongqayi, knocked him down in the 1st round, won by a 4th round TKO.

I thought Arce looked better then he had in years.
