Mike Jones vs Selcuk Aydin ?
Promoter Russell Peltz said that Philadelphia's Mike Jones could face Selcuk Aydin of Germany in a clash of undefeated welterweights either on the Nov. 12 undercard of Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez III or Antonio Margarito-Miguel Cotto II on Dec. 3.

nice
im good with it being on either card
The winner would likely be the Flod-Ortiz mandatory

Jones ain't getting a shot at neither, they should have just went with a Kell Brook WBO eliminator.
Still a decent fight though.

I agree. I think Jones and Brook should face off as it will be two fighters on the way up, both have pretty good skills, and the winner makes himself a major player at 147 (and the loser if he acquits himself well could still be in line for some pretty big fights down the road).

yes, and I'm not sure Bradley's team is too bright.
Jones should match up well against Bradley.
Bradley won't be able to maul and headbutt the taller and naturally heavier jones.
And Jones uses his length pretty well most of the time. If he committs to using his jab he can pepper Bradley with it as Bradley tries to get into medium range.

Bradley seemed to not deal too well with the height and reach of Abregu. When I was watching that fight I was thinking if you made Abregu's hands a little faster and him a little more talented and he would be winning the fight just because of the difference in length.

Berto's going after the IBF trinket holder Zaveck.

Oh, I forgot that. At least he's finally fighting decent opponents.

If they can make the fight that'd be great. I've wanted to see the Europeans for a while now.

me too. Zaveck, Senchenko, Jackiewicz (seen him once), Ayudin, and Brook (seen him twice).
It is bad when half of the top 10 guys ranked by ring are guys you have seen very little of.

From what I've seen the Europeans at least go out on their shields.

I have a feeling the only way real competition gets Senchenko in the ring is via mandatory. I like my boy Devon to go after Ismael el Massoudi's interim trinket

your boy Devon needs to actually win a fight instead of fighting at home and getting hometown decisions.

I did watch the Matthysse fight on HBO and don't know how I scored the 10th round for Devon live. So I would've had it for Matthysse for one point instead of Devon. I still think it was a close fight but rose colored glasses are a very neat trick.
Who knows where Devon will go next. He has lost national credibility from his last three fights but he is the only one in the top 5 Khan hasn't beaten and would face Khan at the drop of a hat. Devon needs to be very careful entering the waters at 147.
On topic of this thread, I like the fight. It is always good for ranked fighters to fight.

Re: Mike Jones vs Selcuk Aydin ?
He ducked Jones too, He fought Freddy Hernandez instead. He was almost inactive for a whole year (09 to 10) and was offered 2 millon to fight Aydin during the time and turned it down, many guys wouldnt of done that. Aydin vs Jones would be a good scrap, I think both guys are a little overrated. Aydin a few fights ago won a robbery against Jo Jo Dan and Jones should have lost against Soto-Karrass the first time around, but did win a clear desicion the second time around, but i wasnt impressed by the perfromance considering who hes was fighting. As I remember Alfonso Gomez made Soto-Karrass his bitch a couple of years ago. Thats sad that this guy would even give Jones a run for his money in two fights.NJBeatdown86 wrote:So Berto pussed out against Aydin?
