Ward-Froch to take place in Atlantic City
From fat fuck's Twitter
It is official: The Super Six final between @andreward and @carl_froch will take place in the main arena at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
To take place on Oct. 29.
So B-Hop vs Dawson in Jersey on Oct. 15.
Ward-Froch on Oct. 29 in Atlantic City.
Margo-Cotto 2 hopefully at MSG in December.
I'll be at all 3.

Never been to AC i imagine it as a slummy vegas, could be a fight worth making the trip for however. Especially if i could score the seat next to Froch's wife B-)

Smart moves to have the fights in those locations. Will be more available to the press, and will get more exposure then having it in some Indian casino in the middle of nowhere

I don't like this at all. I'd rather have the fight in Oakland.
Didn't the "most avoided fighter on the planet" just fight in Atlantic City? Didn't he get a gift decision?
And now another Goossen fighter is getting a fight in Atlantic City?
I'm sorry the stench is too foul.

This might shut up some people about Ward's supposed preferential treatment in the tourney. When you have 3 preliminary bouts, half the fighters will get 2 home and half get 1. Ward got 2 probably because he is an American fighting in an American channel's tournament. Then he fought the outside the tournament fight at home to maximize profits. The semifinals and finals were contracted to be in the states and it just so happens a large Armenian population lives in So Cal. Another no brainer to me.

I agree, I understand the desire for a "neutral" site, but that doesn't draw fans unless its a mega fight. Not many people will turn out for an Andre Ward fight in some indian casino in minnesota. The US doesnt have the nationalized support of its fighters that other nations have. Casual fans here only like fighters from their regions and the huge names. I dont think ward has too many fans on the east coast, just as someone like zab judah probably doesnt have many on the west coast.

Look at any fighter who is a successful draw, they're all fighting at home venue.
Bute in Romania or Canada, Pascal in Canada, Wlad/Sturm/Abraham/Stieglitz in Germany, Alexander in STL, Brits in the UK, Any Mexican in So Cal or Mexico, etc, etc.
I suggested they have it in San Francisco, place like Bill Graham Civic Auditorium holds like 7-8k
Plenty of Brits in the Bay Area.
Even Kessler had his group of Danish fans at the Oracle Arena

If they wanted to draw the most fans they would have it in the UK. Since the contract says US then I like this. Ward has to fly across the country instead of fighting at home.
I'm a big fan of Ward. While others shit on his style, I find it interesting in that he changes strategy depending upon the opponent.
But he did get too many home fights.

Crowds are not as important as TV ratings. This has been the case for a long time. Networks like a nice crowd because it looks good on TV, and adds excitment. But that's about it.
Having it in AC will give the fight a greater chance of US media exposure. Which is what the fight needs.
It sucks that the fight won't be on CBS. That's where it needs to be shown.

Jersey has good judges and officials, they just weren't working the Williams fight. Given how shitty everyone looked in that one, I'd say they're even MORE likely to make sure they put the A-team on this one.
