Oct 29th for the Super Six final ?
According to The Sun, there is a tentative date of October 29th for the super middleweight unification between Andre Ward (24-0, 13KOs) and Carl Froch (28-1, 20KOs). The two champions are colliding in the final round of the Super Six Boxing Classic. Madison Square Garden in New York City has been mentioned as the possible venue to host the fight. Froch is pushing Showtime to stage the fight take place in Las Vegas.
"I'm pushing hard for this fight to take place in Las Vegas. It's the boxing capital of the world and to see my name in lights along the Strip would be awesome. All boxers dream of fighting there and I'm no exception. I'm hopeful a deal can be done," Froch said.

Create a venue in central park.

MSG would be the better venue. It's cheaper air fair for UK fans, and it's the media capitol. It'd get a lot more press then in Vegas.
They need to give up on Vegas. Unless you are a huge Marquee name, your just going to be fighting in a half empty venue, in front of a boring crowd.

The thing is, Vegas still pays the big site fees, and the taxes are way lower, thus more money for the fighters.

Yup, no State tax. But, it's a trade off. Casino not going to pay huge money unless it's big names that will draw in the big high rollers and corporate clowns.
Plus, in a bigger media market, you'd get more exposure. And both Froch and Ward need more exposure.

I don't know why you keep thinking this Grant, it's more expensive. Just because New York is closer doesn't mean it's cheaper.
