Why isn't Ortiz seeking redemption?
Wouldn't it make sense for Ortiz to fight Maidana again? It would draw & they can fight at 147.

i agree. i think that its the only way for him to erase the bad reputation that he gave himself as a quitter. fight maidana again and beat him this time and you wont be known as a quitter anymore.

Maidana open to a rematch with Ortiz as long as the money is right
April 18th, 2011
f WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (29-2-2, 22 KO’s) wants a rematch with Marcos Maidana (30-2, 27 KO’s) he has the perfect opportunity now. Maidana is saying that’s interested in fighting Ortiz again as long as the money is right. Speaking with the examiner.com, Maidana said “I will face him again, provided that I get a convenient offer of course. But now he is in the 147pound division and that could be an obstacle.”
It is worrisome that Maidana is saying that Ortiz fighting at welterweight would be a problem for him. Why should be a problem? It’s only seven pounds of weight. Depending on how heavy Ortiz is after re-hydrating. If he’s not in the 160s, Maidana should have a good chance of beating Ortiz again.

Wondering if Maidana feels like welters are too strong for him & maybe watching Ortiz put Berto down has scared him off a bit.
